Did you skip xmas? What did you do?

I saw the very beautiful "Princess and the Frog" with my daughter. Later we had a snow ball fight. Then we went back in the house and watched her favorite movie of the moment "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". Also watched an old Betty Davis film. What did you do?

This was our first December 25th without xmas and truly I don't miss it.

Shyra

Spent most of the day with my mother and brother. She lives in a retirement community which has several dining rooms. We ate at one and had a blah meal. I mean, have you ever had soggy stuffing/dressing? Dag, that was some nasty goat droppings! sad

I would opt out of it but I have young children, Its all about buying the best stuff, gadgets. the only winners are the shops, I would say save your money and put in Government bonds so that helps everybody with the burden of having to have high taxes

I heard on BBC radio 1 that a deejay got a universal remote control for her tv from her friend boy did she bitch about it ungreatful cow, this is what i mean people expect expensive gifts. she should of received it with thanks not bitch about it. Think about people that didnt get a present or a meal you silly women.

Yes, I love skipping xmas. It's so much less stressful that way. I decided a couple of years ago that I was not going to participate in the ratrace to fly to visit my family, and stop feeling overwhelmed (and broke) from trying to buy them gifts.

A couple of years ago I spent xmas with my friend and her mom; we went out to brunch and then bar hopped the rest of the day. For the past two years I have had to do a little celebrating b/c my SO's parents are within driving distance and they love xmas. I wish I could still skip it, but they wouldn't really understand why I don't like it.

But I still don't put up a tree, decorate, or buy gifts for my family until after xmas.
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Woke up late in the morning, did some cleaning, played b-ball with friends, took a relaxing shower, took my girlfriend & her lil' sister out to dinner then straight to the movies, the princess and the frog, a good day.

I have been studying with the Witnesses but I am not one. They do give their children alot of presents but it's throughout the year. My daughter was bummed about the Christmas not being celebrated but I started giving he little wrapped gifts in October and made it clear that we would still have special times just not wrapped around a specific holiday.

I like it that I don't have to come up with presents for a bunch of people at the same time. By giveing people gifts when I see something that reminds me of them I don't have to divide the total money I have to spend on xmas by the # of people I need to spend it on.
