From my experience the over-the-counter stuff doesn't work.

I don't take anything except a couple of non-aspirins. It's not that big of a deal. One day of pain, no use complaining and acting like you're going to die, in my opinion, at least!

Plus, if you don't think about it, that usually helps. And exercise...
