Celebratory Bullet Kills 4-Year-Old Boy In Church

Don't FOOLS know that bullets actually come back down?

DECATUR, Ga. -- A 4-year-old boy was killed by a falling bullet from celebratory gunfire while attending a New Year’s Eve church service in Decatur

I don't fully understand this. I looked up the weight of a 9 mm as an example, and it was 9 grams, or for all you imperial people. 0.019 pounds. I mean, super light. What makes that lethal is the intense velocity of a bullet, but if a bullet of that weight is falling from the sky it wouldn't fall any harder than say, a piece of hail, or whatever its terminal velocity is....

For the same reason, dropping a penny from the empire state building won't kill anyone, it lacks mass to do so at speeds of gravity with drag (see mythbusters)

This is a really freaky occurrence, especially as the bullet would have to slow down by penetrating the roof first. I don't get this at all...

I would believe that a fired bullet ricocheted and killed him, but just falling, seems odd to me.

But it's still sad.

Horrible typo edits

I had exactly the same thoughts while reading this. Sounds more like a ricochet than simply a bullet coming back from above.Very sad story.
Same thing almost happened to me when I was a kid...but the bullet hit my friend and not me. Went inside his cheek and came out at the other cheek. This happened during a wedding. He was standing right next to me.

That's what I don't like about some New Year's eve celebrations, especially when idiots use guns to celebrate. Just terrible that a child had to die over someone's stupidity.

There are some places I just wouldn't go during New Years Eve.

Like Georgia for example.

Celebrate and guns shouldn't even be in the same sentence. It's sad that this boy died, and in a church too.
