The Human Race: Why?

Please post anything you think is actually good about the Human Race.

Please Post ONE good thing about the Human Race from the point of view of anything on the Planet apart from a Human.

The question is meaningless. The concept of "good" has no meaning outside of humanity.

"The question is meaningless. The concept of "good" has no meaning outside of humanity".

The above statement is false.

IF- you believe in other beings being cognitive, in terms of thoughts and emotions.

You can argue in defence of your statement but ultimately cannot validate it.

At best we could only conceede that my propostion is as equally valids as the one you adhere to.

I believe in good outside of humanity- Is this another example of Humanties overblown sense of greatness and self importance?

Here's a thoughtful article on extinction of the human race. It's well worth a read.

Each time I had an idea, the "good" was done to undo the "bad" that was originally done.

Non, we dunt stink...lol

My one good thing about the human race: the amazing way in which we have been able to evolve physically, spiritually and intellectually...as far as I know, nothing else on Earth--or anywhere else we know of--even comes close...

Evolved Amazingly phyiscally? Are you sure? What other creatre is so ill equipped to survive in a 'natural' (or rather non-man made environment?)

No hair, hardly, no defensive qualities, all we have is brains! Though these have proved to be useful.

Spiritually and intellectually? You're kidding me right?

Intellect of the human is enslaved to the emotions, is perverted by it non-the-less.

And Spiritually? I've seen more grace, honesty, humility and spirituality in the step of a cheater than will ever be etched upou a human face.

Not true... we had a cow once that thought he was a dog... really. He tried playing fetch with a ball, etc... it was actually quite funny...

Anyway... I know that wasn't what you were saying. I just wanted to share my story of the confused cow. smile

1) Amazing in how much we've changed...measuring the value in our physical evolution in simplistic terms of how well we could survive a snowstorm butt nekkid is rather limiting in our thinking...

No hair, hardly, no defensive qualities, all we have is brains! Though these have proved to be useful.

Um, aren't brains a physical part of our bodies??...and I think you're severly underestimating the value our brains have had over the centuries by saying they've "proved to be useful"...

ally and intellectually? You're kidding me right?

Intellect of the human is enslaved to the emotions, is perverted by it non-the-less.

What the...??...lol...Which emotion caused us to come up with the intellect to create the computer, or to travel in space??...To invent the lightbulb, or harness electricity??...We have the capacity to envision, to imagine...and even greater, to make into reality all that we envision and imagine...half-baked cliches about the human condition don't negate that very real fact...

And spiritually? I've seen more grace, honesty, humility and spirituality in the step of a cheater than will ever be etched upou a human face.

A "cheater"??...Um, ok..not sure what you're sayin' there (???), but if to you spirituality is something you can look at, instead of something which manifests itself thru unseen connections and outward actions, then that tells me all I need to know right there...

If you were trying to prove me wrong, you failed miserably...

Dude:

Why is it good our physical evolution?

Why is our intellectuall capabilities good?

Wot is you meaning by Spiritual and, specifically please why Spiritual GOOD?

Is it because you think humans have these attributes in superiority to all living things?

Is superiority in and of itself good?

Am I very thick?

Dude:

Why is it good our physical evolution?

Dude/dudette:

I said the way in which we have been able to evolve...meaning, take where we started from, and compare it to where we are now complete with all our capabilities...that evolutionary arc is amazing, and far greater than pretty much anything else we know of in terms of physical, intellectual and spiritual evolution (particularly the last two)...

Why is our intellectuall capabilities good?

Our intellectual evolution has allowed us to travel between planets, communicate instantly with people all over the world, to fly thru the skies and travel underwater, to predict weather and understand weather patterns, to prolong life, to save life, to create life thru alternative means, to put out forest fires, to help save certain species of animals from extinction, stop me anytime here...

Wot is you meaning by Spiritual and, specifically please why Spiritual GOOD?

Is it because you think humans have these attributes in superiority to all living things?

Spirituality, to me, is that "thing" which connects us to something outside ourselves...it's that physical energy that resides within and causes us to look beyond the immediate, to empathize with what is happening beyond our physical bodies...spirituality is like a mindset we cultivate and explore, both individually and together...it conjures up concepts such as God (with some, such as myself, believing that it actually connects us to God)...and as a whole, human spirituality has evolved tremendously over our history here on earth...and it's something I have yet to see proof of existing within plants, trees and frogs...or confused cows...

Is superiority in and of itself good?

No...it depends on the area in which one is superior...

Am I very thick?

No, you're just "big boned"... wink

Gotta to, Comon...things to see, and people to do...thanks for the debate...got me energized... smile
