A bunch of my relatives are coming over to my house and everyone is bringing something. So far, I know that we'll be having rice, some kind of beans, pernil (roasted pork shoulder), roasted chicken, fried plantains, Pastelón de plátanos amarillos (which is a casserole with ripe plantains, ground beef and some other stuff. It's so good! drool), flan, and pie. And there will be wine drink

Oh yum!

Tomorrow, Phil and I are going to try (around babies feeding and playing) to make a nice meal for the two of us.
Roast Beef, Roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, Honey & Pepper roasted carrots-parsnips-celeriac, Gravy & Hot chocolate Fondant.

Then on Monday we are going to Steve & Paola's to have Turkey, Stuffing, Roast Potatoes, Mashed Potatoes. Gravy and who knows what else. (lots of wine)

Oh hell NO!

We were just talking about how, by the calculations of the dr, little Selden was probably conceived Christmas Eve last year. We did not imagine that we would have a baby by this Christmas.
One is enough...mommy is too old for this.

Well.... hmmm

My Mom and I are sharing the cooking, and decided that neither one of us wants to see any part of a turkey, so she told me to call my Dad and ask him what he wanted.
His reply: "Steak. neutral" <--- deadpan just like that.
I said, "Are you sure?"
He said, "Steak." neutral
lol
So I called my Mom back and said, "He just wants steak."
My sister can only eat fish, so she's having salmon.
My mom and I are going to have chicken.
Guess who's doing the meats... rolleyes

We're also having cabbage, sweet potatoes, macaroni salad and cornbread.
I'm about to go bake a cake, and Mom is baking the cookies.
whew

It all sounds yummy!!

We are having a pork tenderloin that we had cut so we can roll it up with homeade cranberry dressing, then do it on the rotisserie, along with green bean casserole, my cranberry sauce and yams!

I went visiting tonight, and a southern style German menu was served:

Game Gulash, Knoedel, Rotkohl, and I think some carrots...lots of cinnamon ginger cookies, cake, gluhwein and sekt (German sparkling wine)...really old skool traditional German food.

We are having lots and lots of pasta. A few years back we decided that we didn't want the "normal" Xmas supper...so now it's Pepperoni Pasta, Chicken Alfredo etc...yummy!
