No Replies? I used to love Jennifer Jones, especially in Duel in the Sun, with a sex-charged Western with Gregory Peck in the villain's role. Brillant.
It's hard, sometimes, to reconcile her ultra-sweet screen image with her real-lifre deeds and the way she just abandoned her husband, Robert Walker, to be with David O. Selznick. But, she was a very talented actress.

She was gorgeous. Her and Bill Holden were the shit in Love is a Many Splendored Thing. Also loved her in The Man in the Grey Flannel Suit with Gregory Peck. RIP

Did you every see he "Bio"... I think on A&E? Robert Walker died at the age of 36 from alcohol abuse. Mr. Selznick strung her along years because he couldn't make up his mind to be with her or leave his family. When Selznick died, she was left almost broke and the career was finished.

My favorite movies were Love Letters and Madame Bovary.

I actually read two biographies on her: one about Jennifer Jones and another specifically about her and relationship with Robert Walker. Robert Walker never got over her leaving him, not to say it was her fault he became an alcoholic, but it added to his problems. Selznick finally did leave his wife for her, but from all accounts it was not the happiest of marriages. To me, it was obvious she wanted to be with Selznick to further her career.

Ms. Jones passed after TCM (Turner Classic Movies) annual movie montage of people in film who've passed this year. An actor or actress always seems to pass away right after they air their memorian. Anywho, I just saw TCM tribute to Ms. Jennifer Jones, nicely done.
