i actually never watched a single episode while it was on and made fun of my friends who did. then one made me sit down and watch a few episodes. now i think it is one of my all time favorite shows ever.

I do respect the people who like it, maybe some day I'll have a pleasant surprise

As much as I loved Firefly, I think it Whedon's "Dr. Horrible" that made me go back and check out Buffy and Angel. I'm also a big fan of Dollhouse. It got off to a rocky start, but the unaired 13th episode is monumentally phenomenal and the last few episodes have been close to perfect. When executed correctly, I'm convinced it's his most intriguing concept.

it's actually a fntastic show. not so much in the first season, where they were sputtering and trying to figure it out, but it's only half a season. by the time it is in it's fist full season, it gets really good. by the ned of 5th season, you'll be crying over episodes. by the end of the seventh season, you'll be obsesed and picking up the paperbacks of the season 8 comics.

give it a try. i think a lot of us fans were in a similar mindset in the beginning.

But that's how Joss works his magic, he really sets up the story slowly and well, so when he references something in season 6 you suddenly recall something that was mentioned as a throw away line from season 1. That is why hes such a creative writer. Unfortunately TV doesn't give time anymore to building a story. Dollhouse is a perfect example of this. The first season was slow untill half way and by the end you were like "WOW", specially after you see where civilization is headed. Now in the 2nd season the last 6 episodes of this now canceled show is firing like a souped up hot road with the end of humanity the next exit.

LOL jinx, but I totally agree this little show is gonna be talked bout for years to come. He's just gonna let it all blow up and end it with no one getting out alive. That's why I love him, he's not afraid to kill his characters. I think he secretly loves it.

it's not so much the charactors or the normal girl buffy part of the first season that i mean. it's more the big bad of the season and that build-to-the-big-bad arc that lacks a bit in first season. it ends up being lots of scooby one episode monster story lines. in later seasons, they got much better at building each big bad of the season and balancing one-off stories.

i haven't watched dollhouse yet. i honestly don't think i have seen any of his shows while they are on air.

Yes, the first few episodes of Dollhouse didn't do much for me either, but then Joss turns everything upside down so by the end of season one, he had me watching with my mouth agape.

I have Dr Horrible on DVD, but haven't watched it yet.

omg What are you waiting for? It's short, it's utterly hilarious, and some of the songs are excellent. It really made me see Neil Patrick Harris in a new light.

I liked Dr. Horrible. Maybe not the end so much, but the songs are really good.

I wasn't really aware of Joss Whedlan (or whatever his name is) until I watched Dr. Horrible, and the extras were saying what a sensation it was on the internet even before it came out. Where was I during that? lol Looking at some mullet haired poodle man?

That's no surprise. The soundtrack from the Buffy The Vampire Slayer musical episode Once More With Feeling is one of my top 10 favorite albums from this decade.

I remember seeing ads for the Buffy musical thinking "WTF is that?" lol I guess I just didn't get the tone of the show, since I never saw the film either. It's nice that TV is occasionally hipper than we expect it to be.

The film is terrible--totally a different beast from the TV show. Please don't waste your time with it. lol

I thought it was too much to be honest. It was funny, of course....but there were too many moments that made me cringe., thinking those fellas were going too far.

No, they were apparently taken off the air because they were too hard on the Prime Minister and the network got a railing.

Rubbish...he deserved it!

2. "Lost" (ABC, 2004-present): It's the Rubik's Cube of TV shows. This plane-crash survival drama has had fans obsessed with trying to crack its numbers-crunching, monster-chasing, time-tripping mythology. But in addition to an intricate mystery, "Lost" has offered us a compelling web of personal stories tied to a diverse and ever-engaging group of island castaways. We can hardly wait for the final chapter to unfold.

I also think Six Feet Under is a MAJOR omission. Any critic worth their salt would surely place it top 20, if not top 5. And no Curb Your Enthusiasm! Such influential shows. This guy mustve been smokin some major greenery to have forgotten those!

Also rate Peep Show, The Office original and Extras highly.
