not at all worth the money ...

it of course begs the question ... if i was 6'5 or so ... and in incredible shape ... how much would it take to get pummeled ... knowing of course - that u probably wouldnt die .. . but u might be laid up for months ... (or at the very least in pain for weeks ... hmmm!!??

hate to say it , but for me ... it would take about 15x what these guys seem to be making ...

Shamrock made millions in the WWF. He has admitted that he went to the WWF for the money only and that he did not like the WWF.

That really is disappointing though... he had to resort to going to WWF in order to make any money, when UFC and Pride are far better than WWF... I guess this is a matter of opinion.

There are no bells and whistles or half-naked women in Pride and UFC to appeal to the younger crowd or any cute little costumes and such so they have much more of a following too. God, I hope that they don't ever go that route.

Thanks, by the way... I wondered why it was that he left. It does make sense considering the pay he must have been receiving.

For some stupid reason, the WWF is the most popular sport going... sad

I know. sad

It's the costumes, the characters that they create, the script, the naked-women... pure entertainment! wink It's not even really wrestling, it's more like a play...

It's sad really that there are kids out there longing to be a wrestling superstars... and they're throwing themselves off of their houses and throwing their friend onto a floor full of tacks, instead of working out and training to be a true wrestler/fighter.

I dont watch the WWE anymore ... got tired of it ...

but when u say Shamrock made millions ... $$$ ... I really wonder if that is so ... it seems like there is one or 2 that make millions (stone cold maybe when he was big ... and now the rock ... ) and the rest are maybe 300,000 - 500,000 categories... just from what i read and observations ... thats because vince is sooo shrewd ... thats why alot of em jumped ship back in the early 90s I believe ... just an opinion and I am not too concerned about it ... but I would bet Shammy was making more at WWF than at the ultimate fighting stuff ... just a guess ... i have nothing in writing at my end readily available to back it up ...

which reminds me - did u see the documentary on "jake the snake " and stuff ... that guy was broke and on Coke ... damn ... he was like my fav in the WWF days ... lol ... I think "tony atlas" was also in that documentary ... and he was pretty down in the dumps also ...

I watched that documentary with Jake The Snake Roberts... it was sad to watch. He completely fucked up his life because of drugs and was totally ruining what little relationship he had with his daughter... which wasn't much of one if I remember. I was hoping at the end of the show they would say that he had cleaned up his act, but it certainly wasn't the way it went.

Edit: If I remember correctly, wasn't he working a little in small school gyms when they would have matches for drug money? How humiliating to know where you were at one point in your life and to take a look at yourself now and it was all because of drugs.

About Ken Shamrock in the WWF:

WWF

February 24, 1997, Shamrock made his first appearance for the WWF, by sitting at the ringside at Monday Night Raw. Earlier that day he had signed a three year contract, worth in excess of $1 million per annum. This was a low blow to New Japan Pro Wrestling, had made the error of publicly announcing a match featuring Shamrock, a deal which was not finalized.

Can you find out how much he made while with UFC to see the comparison?

If you're talking about when Shamrock was with the WWF I totally agree with the fact that he sucked at it.

I imagine he was paid that much simply because he already had his name out there and the WWF knew that they would have Shamrock's old following from the UFC start watching WWF... if they weren't already a fan.

With PRIDE:

Shoot Fighting

On January 30, Ken was doing commentating for PRIDE (a shoot fight group). Ken stated that he had signed a two-match contract with Dream Stage Entertainment, but that he currently wants to try one fight and see if a second fight would be justified. The contract is rumored to be in the $700,000 range.

I watched this last night and I never realized that Kerr was addicted to drugs. I also cannot believe that that woman he is with didn't give a shit about him and decided she was still going to drink in front of him when he returned home from rehab... knowing she shouldn't. ARGH!

I cannot believe he married her. I really feel that she ruined his career or, at the very least, cost him his last fight. Instead of training he went home and cleaned the pool like she wanted. Which showed in his last fight as he quickly ran out of stamina. Pool cleaning does not provide enough of a cardio workout!!

That last fight of his was sad and very hard to watch. I nearly cried... totally crushing. I can't imagine being him at that time.

I got more out of the documentary than just finding out that he married a bitch. But, I am a woman and for the moment that is what I am focusing on. The only thing that I am happy about is that the documentary showed the "Ultimate Fighting Documentary Watching World" that she is clearly a bitch who does not care about him at all... but that she likes the money.

I am done ranting now.
