It's been a stressful year and I look forward to starting fresh in the New Year but I do love, love, love the Holidays.

My husband and I thought we would be in our new place but the damn contracter seems to have tar up his butt. mad But other than that I love to walk around the city and take in the atmosphere. biggrin

I never feel the ~spirit~ now, how can we when it's so commercialised there's nothing left except buybuybuybuy?

When I have kids, no way I'm bringing them up to want presents, nope, we'll be giving back, donating to charity, volunteering, whatever we can do to actually HELP not consume.

I hate that I can't give any of my 7 cousins a nice card saying I sponsored a child in Africa for them cuz I know they'll look at me like whofarted "Where the heck is my (47th) Bratz doll?"

BAH HUMBUG IS RIGHT!! lol

we always donate to the Kmart wishing tree...i have done so since its inception, and now i do it with the rugrat.

I'm all grinchy and scroogy. I used to loooove Christmas growing up, but now I'm all jaded. Family supposed to come visit but they don't know what the hell they are doing yet. The kid fucked up royally with school so he's getting bare essentials...underwear, socks, books....and if I can swing a lump of coal eek Probably end up being another fattening dinner that I can't really afford and counting the days until school starts up LOL.

I think the killer is seeing Xmas stuff in the middle of August! disbelief

But I might try to put the tree up next week. I also have the "lazy" plug in tree just in case LOL.

The living room w/ our new Champagne 7' tree, decorated in gold/amber/dark red. There is a 2' tree on the buffet w/ the same color mini ornaments (although it was not decorated yet when I took this picture). This tree has our keepsake ornaments from Hallmark. My roommate's dad makes these really ornate ornaments that look like they've all been hand stitched or something. It's just fabric trim, etc, but they're really nice. I put them on this tree, although one purple/white one is on the spinner ornament in the dining room. We have Star Trek, Star Wars, Warner Bros cartoon, birds, and penguins on this tree too. A few things in the middle on the buffet are different now.

The dining room, with two 6' trees. Tree on the left is all red ornaments w/ clear and green lights, and a black Santa on top.

Both trees in the dining room have a 100 light orb in the middle (they're meant to hang, but I put them inside the tree). Both have a spinner ornament right in the middle. I don't have skirts for them yet.

I'm not big on tree toppers, but the Black Santa always sit on the red tree.
