Not In A "Going To Work" Mood Today I just want to sit at home, drink endless cups of coffee, smoke and browse the net all day.
I should have been in the bathroom 20 minutes ago.

Just today? That's everyday for me. Sometimes my alarm clock goes off and I just lay in bed dreading going in.....just thinking. I've been late a few times because of it. It's been really cold too....so yeah staying in, drinking hot cocoa and watching movies would be nice instead of going to work. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

Most mornings I don't lately, so I am embracing it! How´s the weather in Minneapolis right now? I´m thinking of going there to visit a good friend after the holidays. It has warmed up today, and that's probably why I don't mind so much. It's currently 12 degrees F (-11 C) and it should get up to 25 F (-3.8 C) today. We're back to normal temperatures for this time of year. It's been really cold. There's not much snow left on the ground, just an inch or so covering the grass. I'm wondering if it will be gone by new year's or if we'll get some more. January and February can be pretty brutal, though. |

They seem to do demonstrations every year on the coldest days where they take a coffee cup of hot water and throw it in the air and you honestly see it freeze in the air and fall to the ground as ice. Like this: But you never know what you're going to get. Sometimes we get a balmy warm up and have 40 degree days in January. |

I have the day off!
I'm one of the organizers for our Christmas party, (union), and I'm running around like a crazy person with last minute details and such. Yesterday I found out that the hall isn't doing the centerpieces for the tables so last night I was out at Michaels and the Dollar Store buying crap and was up till 2am making them myself. On top of that, we've been having near monsoon weather the last 2 days. Right now there's a severe storm warning, a tornado watch and a flood warning going on and I need to go get my hair done. We didn't have a storm this bad during hurrcane season for goodness sakes! Why did this have to happen the day of our party? Hell, I would have gotten more rest If I had gone to work. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

See, I knew it.The sun definitely plays a huge part in how people feel about life and themselves in particular. Those supposedly happy countries often have a statistically higher number of people using anti-depressants, and as far as I know the risk of suicide is much higher. There was this author from Lithuania, a Baltic, cold country up north, who wrote a novel about suicide. He won a literature award for his book and right before he was supposed to show up in Frankfurt, Germany, where the ceremony took place,he didn´t show up because he commited suicide....which is sad but ironic considering the topic of his novel. I´m seriously considering moving to a much warmer country. I´ve seen people in really poor countries but, as naive as it sounds, they seemed happier than most people in richer countries. The higher standard of living and the well paid jobs are like a drug to help people bear this cold climate and socially cold atmosphere. Cuba, for instance, is very poor....but I have never, ever seen more energetic, more vigorous people in my life, even though they couldn´t even afford the basic things in life. Somehow I got this thread a bit mixed up with this thread: http://prince.org/msg/100/326364 But it´s not that far fetched to mix them up. Where do you live ? Florida? Have you ever lived in a colder state? Is there a big difference between colder and warmer states when it comes to quality of life or standard of living? What´s your experience? Well, I went to work yesterday, but it dragged like a mule.
My boss let me leave thirty minutes earlier though. I told her that I had to go home, to get ready to go out later last night. I think I said something a tad camp, like: "You wouldn't want me to turn-up looking like a trog, would you?"
