anyone here ever put hydrogen peroxide in your ears... !!!???? ... to help fight off colds and sore throats?
I heard this helps clear your head up, as alot of the germs that cause colds are found in the ear from not being properly dried after showers/baths/swimming. anyone ever hear this before or have any other suggestions??? HATE being sick 12/05/2011

I've had a head cold all week, so this is a rather timely thread for me.

thanks Cinnie
I was looking it up on google and a few people say it's a good thing but it's the one or two that warn against it that have my attention. nothing smaller than your elbow should be up in there anyway. and actually i did read something small about sniffing it aswell but forgot to mention it. I'm totally not gonna try it, i'll get better soon the ol' fashion way. [Edited 12/3/09 14:18pm] 12/05/2011

One of my daughters had an earache, and when I took her to the pediatrician, the Dr. put hydrogen peroxide in her ears for a few minutes..then she had them drained into a cotton ball. Her earache went away without any antibiotics!

Yes, the old folks use to put a drop or two in your ear if you had an ear infection, let it bubble up then lean over to let the excess run out. It won't hurt. I've done it for myself and my kids.

I haven't had an ear infection since I was a kid. But I do use hydrogen peroxide to clean my ears. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I haven't done the ear thing but I do (and have heard from Dr's) about the nostril thing. I sometimes use listerine.

These all sound like fixes for either a waxy blockage, or bacterial ear infection.
We're talking about COLDS I thought. No shit, same solutions?

We're talking about COLDS I thought. No shit, same solutions? Cleaning the nostrils and gargling with warm salt water (or gargling Listerine, I just figure if Listerine does the same as the salt water I shove it in my nose too ) helps to fight proliferation of germs that cause colds/flus etc... At least this is how I understood it.
