Animal Testing

I just got this from a friend after finding out over 12,800 animals were killed during tesing for Splenda. Mostly beagles because they don't bite sad

Anyway here is a list, if you can avoid using these products or even try to omit a few of them from your lifestyle it will help. It makes me sad sad

Although this list is smaller than it was a few years ago, it still pretty long.

At this holiday season lets try to avoid buying products that harm others in the process.

I’ve written “guilty” by the products I currently use and will be removing from my house and use.

Hope you’ll do the same. Animal testing is senseless.

This is why I use all natural products like Method, Burts Bees, etc. When you use natural products, most times those companies do NOT test on animals at all, plus you have the benefit of natural ingredients. Now that I've used natural products more, the smell of something like bleach, or even Windex, absolutely shuts my lungs down and chokes the hell out of me. Method has an all-purpose spray cleaner called Naked. LOVE it. It's got like 3 or 4 ingredients in it. They have great wood, glass, metal, and stone (like granite, etc) cleaners, plus cloths to go with those cleaners. I use an extensive line of Burt's Bees products for skin, hair, body wash, bath. I use Tom's of Maine for toothpaste and deodorant. They're all nature friendly aka no animal testing.

sad Just earlier today I was looking at a tube of L'Occitane en Provence. Not my normal stuff but received it as a gift and was wondering if they do animal testing.

I saw Kirstie Alley talking about using cheap Vodka as an effective cleanser because it's not non-toxic, doesn't have an odor and leaves a nice shine.
Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Yep. I saw that too. Today on The View, they talked about using toothpaste for jewelry cleaning (which was also the subject of a recent thread: http://prince.org/msg/100/325198 ), as well as filling in the scratches on your DVDs. Use the toothpaste with a cotton ball, a nice creamy one, from the center going out (not in a circle), to fill in and clean up your DVDs and CD's scratches. Also, use corn starch on jewelry that is in a knot. The silks make it easier to unknot, opposed to using an oil.

I hate using jewelry cleaner. Maybe I'll try toothpaste next time.

It's really hard to omit everything from your daily routine, but if everyone is aware of substitutions it makes it easier.

Peta has a list of places that don't use animals for testing. There are so many more available now than ever before. If everyone even omits one product from their daily routine it will make a difference and save some animals.

Thanks for taking the time to read this thread!

It's a gradual process. And there are alternatives out there.

Actually, not really. What affects a mouse one way can impact a cat another and us even a different way and so on. There's just no need to use animals for cosmetic/household product testing.

No offense, but this is the ignorance that keeps this shit going. There ARE other ways and lots of companies are starting to use them. It's come a long long way in the past 10 years or so and if we all take simple steps to stop it we can help.

There is no need to pour clorox in a rabbit's eye to see if it burns. It's fucking bleach!! Of course it burns! They put these animals into contraptions so they cannot move and inflict horrible pain on them. It's unnecessary and cruel.

They should start testing on humans...prisoners on death row for raping and/or killing children. But nooooo, we have too many rights. Animals don't have any.

If you drink the cheap vodka you won't give a fuck how clean your house is.
