it takes an incredible person to foster and/or adopt. that he and his partner fostered and tried to adopt alone speaks VOLUMES C! I've never posted pics of Cody before. Here he is with us. This is still pretty early on. Maybe a month in. He was always serious and apprehensive around people(and downright scared of women and policemen) , kinda shows in the pic. He never smiled: My favorite pic of him, Christmas day of 2000: He was sent back to his horrible "parents" 4 months after this was taken. [Edited 11/29/09 19:10pm]

[Edited 11/29/09 19:10pm] what a cutie! as a former foster kid, foster/adoptive parents mean the world to me. you certainly made a positive change in his life. it might only seem like the positive change was temporary, but i am sure that isn't the case. with childhoods like that, the positive moments tend to REALLY stay with you. we should all be so lucky to have people like you in our lives.

When you read these stories about mothers selling their daughters into prostitution and death and others kidnapping little girls and imprisoning them, doesn't the whole charade over gay people and our rights seem RIDICULOUS? 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

[Edited 12/1/09 19:43pm] You had a child, I'm sorry about that. We truly loved him with all our hearts, but the tragedy was not that he wasn't able to stay with us (though that is infuriating enough), but that he and his brothers went back to a horrible situation. These children were made to go out begging for food. Two of them had been LOST (as in search parties had to be organized) on more than one occasion. The sperm and egg donors (can't call them parents) popped ANOTHER baby while these 4 were taken from them. This child came to us still in diapers and not knowing how to eat solid foods. He barely spoke. He made sounds if he had to but did not form words. I'm not exaggerating one bit. We put him in head start immediately and worked with him at home constantly. He made great progress, which was probably all lost. All this wonderful stuff (not to mention the beatings) they were returned to. The oldest of (now 16) just became a daddy.
