Just seen the final episode of The Sopranos

What a finale, my heart was pounding and my stomach whirling...I know there was outcry at the end when it first came out.

What do YOU think the ending means?

I have my firm idea but why or who I'm not so sure about!

I have a few questions but I'll wait to see if anybody replies before I open a can of worms.

hah! did you rent the dvd's? Hmm let me see, the finale, if I remember correctly there were a lot of "things" going on that led you to believe what could have happened...1) Tony finally getting whacked, 2) His daughter getting caught in the crossfire, 3) The whole family dies, 4) It's done by the guys fumbling with the jukebox machine (if i remember correctly) or 5) Someone shows up at the diner door blasting everybody in sight.....but in all, I think nothing happened. It's leading off to pickup right where the movie will begin. nod
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Nah - he's dead. I know this debate rumbled on and on at the time but everything building up to it points to his death especially the pattern of events leading up to the sudden ending.

It's very clever because it was on tbe cards in episode 1 really and throughout it has many chances to be a different ending but, ultimately, he's on a railroad to death

no they didn't - as Tony said, families don't get touched...which is why, if Meadow hadn't had trouble parking she would have been in there and possibly Tony wouldn't have got shot because the guy who was in the bathroom wouldn't have had a clear shot.

There's nothing to suggest the family gets hit because there it's never happened before and there's no reason for it to happen now.

The duck thing was fairly ace too...the second the final 'duck' comes 'home' Tonys fears regarding his family leaving (or jim losing his family are realised)

you missed three important elements. #1 Tony's failed hit against the NY boss, in which, family members were killed. #2 AJ's car fire wasn't an accident. #3 The number of shooters in the diner which I estimate three possibly four. The whole family got murdered. That's why it wasn't shown because too many people would have been outraged. Everyone suspected Tony would be killed so that wouldn't have been a suprise. Also, Adriana's murder was proof how ruthless gangsters can be.

that's not given facts tho... They did mess up the hit but no family of Crews were hit and the NY crew wanted phil dead to and gad a truce after.

AJ truck was an accident

there's only 1 def shooter.... The rest if people are to remind u of all the people who woukd want Tony dead still even though the gang war is over
