Happy Thanksgiving (or happy Thursday to all you non-USA Orgers)

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, and I hope your day is pleasant and filled with much happiness, joy, good friends, and great food. foodnow

But for all of you Orgers outside the USA, do you have any equivalent holiday where you give thanks for being alive and what not? I know that for Cinnie, Ace, and JustErin, they had their Thanksgiving last month canada , but what about you European, African, Asian, Caribbean, Central and South American, Pacific Island, and Aussie Orgers?

In England we just have a plain old Thursday. No special days to be thankful here.

Happy "Family Day" to all. I'm cooking tonight. Sweet potato pie, apple cobbler, turkey, stuffing, ambrosia, pecan pie, baked mac & cheese, red velvet cake, greens, sweet potato sliced in butter, cheescake, rice, veggie platter with my homemade spinach dip....etc, etc.

Tomorrow is my birthday and I'm not touching an oven. I'm just getting drunk and going out.martini martini martini sexy boff

Yes I know how it started. I just posed the question because other countries may have different traditions where they have a huge day of celebration that is not tied to any religious or political precedent. It doesn't even have to be set in November or during the end of the fall months. Maybe some country has "Citizens Appreciation Day" which would be like our Thanksgiving.

Happy Thursday here! It's one day away from Friday, which is one day from the weekend. woot! Not that I usually even know what day of the week it is. lol

We have lots of Buddhist holidays, which no doubt Dan/Imago will find out when he's got one or two days off from school every month. lol yay!

Main holidays in Thailand are New Year's Eve (the western version), Thai New Year (Songkhran) in April, Loy Krathong usually in November, and Children's Day in mid-January (basically kids' Christmas so they don't miss out on gifts).

Oh, and Father's Day is coming up on December 5th. That and Mother's Day fall on the current king's and queen's birthdays. smile
