Seriously, I don't understand why people with kids would iron their tops if they know they're going to be carrying their kids at some point (is that the word, 'carrying'? I forget. Only 'oum' in Thai comes to mind). You get your clothes all creased straight away. I've also found I've certain clothes that don't really need an iron so I'm more than happy to wear them as is. Did you ever iron underwear or socks? Of course, I don't iron underwear or socks. They're made of knit fabric - and don't get wrinkled in the first place. So...you're saying that just because you might get a few wrinkles later in the day, you shouldn't start out neat? You don't carry children on the collar of your shirt. If I'm pressed for time (no pun intended), I always make sure that the collar, cuffs, placket and hem are done, at least. I iron every morning...if it can be seen, it's been ironed...I'm almost a bit obsessive...when I was in the Marines, guys used to pay me to iron their uniforms...I'm not crazy about creases an' shit but I refuse to walk around with wrinkled ass clothing...
I have 3 irons at home, one at my parents house and one at my office.... [Edited 11/25/09 9:04am]

I avoid ironing like the plague.
I finally broke down and bought a small table-top ironing board. I bought a nice iron, tho. If it's REALLY wrinkled, I'll go fish them out of the closet. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Do you even own (and know how to operate) an iron Discuss [Edited 11/25/09 3:58am] I iron before I wear them...but after I do laundry they just get put away. Proud Memaw to Seyhan Olivia Christine ,Zoey Cirilo Jaylee & Ellie Abigail Lillian

I'm pretty good about laying things out when I get them from the dryer so they're not wrinkled. & the clothes I wear don't need it. I really only iron if I'm going out & people who iron jeans scare me

I need to get a life - I iron everything except undies, bras and socks.
It takes me 3 to 4 hours a week and I do it all in one go on a Sunday night. I usually start at 8.00pm. p.s Im not gay and I'm not a snob. I Iron in a little cozy room in the house where I'm all alone I do a bit of reflecting during the ironing process. I thinks about all the things I need to get done, I reminisce about things the kids have said and done, and I conjure evil thoughts [Edited 11/25/09 14:44pm]

I generally try to buy clothes that don't need to be ironed, but if I have work skirts, pants, or shirts that require ironing I try to do it after I wash them. (That is if they don't get dry cleaned.) If I don't do it then, I'll never wear the article because I am always running out the door in the mornings and don't have time to iron beforehand.

When I was little (starting at about age 6), my mom actually gave me ironing lessons. I learned how to iron and press in 4H, and then again in Home Ec class. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

You're switching sides, hoisting them up, playing around, tipping them back over your shoulder etc. so it's inevitable you'll get all creased. Plus, who cares? I like to look neat if going to see people I know, but otherwise does it really matter? I don't wear a lot of shirts though, it should be said. Plus there's always poplin.
