Is "Cocktail" Tom Cruise's worst movie? My mate says "Days of thunder", but thats a real guilty pleasure of mine. Love the look of it and making Nascar actually exciting must be commended aswell. Just wish Duvall and Cruise's characters had more depth.

IMDB or Wiki said that the bint in Top Gun was meant to be in "Days of thunder", which would make the film some sort of semi-sequel to "top gun" ala "Grafitti bridge" and "purple rain".
Just think, if she was in it, would Tom and Nicole ever of fallen in love? And also, Nicole is much hotter then that Kelly woman, though accent wise it sounded like she was guesting in "neighbours".

I honestly don't know. Aside from The Outsiders, I don't think I've seen any of his movies before Interview with the Vampire. And I've heard they generally suck, besides Rain Man and Born on the 4th of July. [Edited 11/24/09 22:11pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

"Top gun" I guess epitomises 80's pop culture. One of the first movies with MTV in mind. Of course, those days are over, but how the score and soundtrack were just as intregal to the movie as the acting and plot, speaks volumes of the times it was made in. Of course, Tom was in "Legend", which was a failure, but an interesting one, to me at least.

I can't stand Tom Cruise anymore. His ego trip on Matt Lauer and Brooke Shields made him look like a bit fucking asshole, and he still is one.
I've refused to watch any of his movies since all that. So what is his worst movie? Anytime he's been in front of any camera since the above mention debacles.

Eyes Wide Shut? I heard that one was really bad.
At least the rest get played on repeat on television.

I never see his movies...because when I was a teen he totally creeped me out so I boycotted him. Now it seems everyone finally picked up on the vibe I always got. I have seen risky business and WOTW, though. WOTW is one of my favorite movies!

Like him or not, he probably had the longest reign as the no 1 box office star in recent Hollywood history (John Wayne was the no 1 box office star for a few decades though apparantly).

You forgot his jumping up and down all over Oprah's sofa on set proclaiming his love for his brainwashed wifey His acting is ok. But in reality he as a person sux. [Edited 11/24/09 22:11pm] Both "rain man" and "4th of July" do stretch him alot, and he copes well on both. "Rain man" inparticular is a hard one to judge as all eyes are initially on general scene chewer Dustin Hoffman (supurb actor dont get me wrong). But its Cruise who impresses more in that movie to me.

At least the rest get played on repeat on television. Eyes Wide Shut is an amazing movie that explores relationships and infidelity and Tom and Nicole were very convincing in it, but it's not for everybody. Check it out I don't think U would be disappointed.

I'm not a big fan of the Cruiser, the entire scientology aspect kinda ruined his x-factor but do enjoy some of his movies. He was great in Eyes Wide Shut, Vanilla Sky and he cracked me up most recent in Tropic Thunder. Good work there.
P.S. I loved Cocktail but moreso cause of Bryan Brown, he was fantastic in it.

Actually I didn't mind it too much when I first watched it a few years ago but I would have to view it again to give an opinion on Cruisers' acting ability in the film.

Yah it is a brilliant movie IMO, I have always enjoyed Kubrick's style but like I said it's not for everybody mainly due to the notorious sexual infidelities and exploring the minds of men and women. See how U go I hope U enjoy it.
