that sounds kind of sad. I had one like that too. I suddenly moved away but there was definitely unfinished business. And for years I dreamt that I went back to that town and found him there still sitting in his office. Finally, about ten years later, I DID go back and he was still sitting in his office in the exact same place where I left him. Then I didn't dream about him any more. smile

eek freaky!!!

I called this guy and we started emailing him for a while, but then he stopped answering and I got mad and I had closure, and the dreams stopped.

intresting i wish i could get closure somehow. i just had a dream about mine last night ... similar to the pride dream but this time we were chatting online.

Nope. When they are past tense, they don't really get thought of like that again.

But when you dream its not that you are thinking of a someone. Dreams are uncontrollable. Sometimes people and things just pop up in them.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

So are you saying that exes appear in dreams because there isn't any closure present? hmmm

Wow. That sounds like what happened with me too.
I used to dream about him every few weeks for years.
Last year I finally bumped into him and once we got chatting, I realised he was no longer the amazing guy I remember him being all those years ago.
The dreams stopped instantly.

Unless you were reminded of them during the waking hours, I doubt your brain would need to access that memory during sleep.

dreams are how your subconsciousness deals with the day.

it must be the closure thing! our fantasies run away with us during those years and how could a normal human being even live up to that lol

I do think recurring, repetitive dreams about a person can indicate a lack of closure, a lingering desire of some sort.

I had a childhood friend...she was my best friend during ages 9-12. For YEARS, in college and through my twenties, I swear I would dream about her EVERY DAY. I never figured out why. Finally the dreams stopped.
