i don't know what i want. will i be happy if i have it? no not really, people are not happy entirely with material possessions. weird question really, but i guess if i can have one thing is to live to a sea harbor like town. my backyard will be these fields of lavenders, and i would write books. Kids would call me strange old baroque..i would not care.

Are you sure you don't want my special squirting watch? lol

Right now I want:

- Jarvis to realize why what he said was insensitive...
Yes, she could have picked a number of things, but why wouldn't Mach want her Mom to not be dying??
If your parent was sick, would that guitar STILL be your first choice of what's most important?

- Mach to feel better, because watching a relative ailing is difficult.

Yes, really.
You are the first one to point out that you're "17" like it's a badge of honor. Your response to an adult who is obviously sad about her Mom being sick was egocentric teenage behavior. I teach high school... I see it all day long. sigh
All I did was point out WHY it was insensitive. And I was hoping you got what I was saying.
You didn't answer my question, tho: if your parent was sick, wouldn't that be what you'd want most- for him/her to get better?

I say Im 17 because people go around here calling me a child, and I think 17 is no where near being a child.

What was "ego" about what I said?

Did you not read my apology?

i think that's excusing his behavior. I'm twenty one, when i was seventeen and someone told me the same thing, i would approach the situation with compassion. I think he just tries to put on this persona in order to get kicks out if . The same applies to other teenager,we aren't stupid we know what we are saying! of course psychologist would say that their pre frontal cortex is not fully developed, hence it enables to censure certain. still that an excuse!

I didn't say "ego" I said "egocentric":

–adjective
1. having or regarding the self or the individual as the center of all things.
2. having little or no regard for interests, beliefs, or attitudes other than one's own; self-centered.

And I just scrolled through. An apology usually includes the words "I'm sorry" or "I apologize". You just clarified why you didn't like her response.

Being 17 doesn't make you a man, either. How you conduct yourself is part of it... hmmm

I'm sorry, Mach... I didn't mean to use your situation as a "teachable moment". hug

I was trying to be nice... my first reaction was "What an ass!" but I tried to remember how old he is and that I wouldn't say that to my students. I'd point out what was wrong with what they said. smile
