well, grandma is cooking right now!
we got the turkey... cranberry sauce (HOMEMADE straight out the CAN bitches!) macaroni and cheese some vegetable I'm sure sweet potato casserole with marshmallows on top (and if the kid wants to act up this year like he don't like it, it's all good, cuz I will be snackin' and smackin' at 2 am!) some pie (Sara Lee, bitches!!! and some Cool Whip!) and some white wine! just a home family affair, no travelin' and looking at other people's cooking with suspicion, no people in my house getting on my nerves (they are coming down for Christmas though). what am I thankful for? well it has been a crazy year. I had surgery and I'm glad I made it through and that I had insurance to pay for it LOL. Even though I am jobless right now I'm thankful I have an education and other options (I am, however, not thankful to have to study organic chemistry again). I'm thankful I was smart enough to put some money aside for savings and thankful that even though it's not much at least checks do come in from the family so we can at least eat and keep a roof over our heads. I am thankful everyone is healthy and my car is paid off this year too. I am thankful that although my anger and stress were off the meter I did not kill or maim anyone or even cuss anyone out too badly....this year. and that I did not fall over dead from a heart attack either. I am thankful to God for continuing to look out for me, and for good people in my life that still support me. I am thankful I found such a cool website with some awesome folk! (I'm talking about Dlisted, y'all..... j/k of course I mean you!!) to anyone who has lost a loved one this year or is struggling keep ya head up!

Imago said: I would just like to take this opportunity to thank my British brothers and sisters without whose complete and utter inability to control the settlers of the Americas lead to such cherished holidays. If not for their mediocre handling of foreign policy circa the last half millennium this week would just be any other week.

Yes, I celebrate it but unfortunately my European clients don't so I had to work this morning.
But since I can work from anywhere, I'm in Arlington, Texas with my wacky family. It's been a rough year for many but we're still here and looking forward to 2010. I have SOOO much to be thankful but today, I'm MOST thankful for these nuts in my midst and that my homey called today inviting me to the Cowboys game. I'm REALLY thankful that my cousin's house is only 5 miles from the stadium versus th 60 miles from MY house. I'm also thankful to be vacating these parts tomorrow and heading to Vegas for the weekend. See ya'll next week! Be safe and take a lot of naps this weekend! [Edited 11/26/09 11:52am]

Last night, me, my sister, her daughter and her daughter's friend volunteered, at a church I used to attend, and my niece is a member of, to help prepare meals for the needy, in which 2000 meals had to be packed for delivery last night and today to give to other charities who deliver the meals to people in need and those who were homebound. It was a great feeling just helping out, as I always wanted to do that. The church also served Thanksgiving meals today from 11am - 3pm to those in need.
Later today, my family members and I will be having our Thanksgiving dinner. I don't celebrate Thanksgiving for its historic meaning, but instead as a day of helping others, and appreciating my family/friends. Hope all is well for everyone, and have a blessed day.
