The lesson here must be: never underestimate the power of 13-year-old girls.

Members of Backstreet Boys once said a very similar line to this. "Never doubt the power of 15 year old girls. They'll tip your bus over. With you in it."

I skimmed this sentence and thought you meant someone at your local Blockbuster store lol and thought wow yeah, those guys really know what they are talking about!

I don't envy folks at Blockbuster. They had to deal with the Twihards on the DVD release.

I think they should trick people into seeing the movie, then when the lights go down, show them the Vanilla Ice movie so those lovely 8 ball jackets can be in fashion again.

There are 2 guys in my local, about late 20s, I usually go in there during the day, midweek and stuff, when all the films are actually on the shelves and they have time to clean the weeklies. They are VERY helpful lol to a suspicious point almost whofarted

I once saw one of them at a huge bicycle race in the city, so I asked if it was him, and he was so surprised I'd even noticed him lol now he blushes when I walk in, especially in the hot weather when I wear short skirts razz

That's totally different. Blade was born minutes after his mother was bitten by a vampire so he doesn't have all the weaknesses that normal vampires have. He's half human, half vampire.

I used to LOVE vampires, when they were sexy blood lusty killers. Now they're walking around in the day light and not dying, falling in love with stupid bitches instead of killing them. These aren't vampires, these are Vampussies.

GuuRRRLLL, you know as well as I do that the only men who sparkle in bright light are male orgers (Even those who claim to be straight shart glitter out their asses).

Vampires don't sparkle!

Fuck twilight, fucking teaching young girls that abusers are actually really hot and truly do care about you as they watch you while you sleep, break into your house and take the engine out of your car! Oh, and also giving birth is akin to having an alien burst out of you so hard your spine breaks. Oh AND your male buddy may just "imprint" himself on your baby so that once she's 18 she'll fall in love with him. NOT sick at all!

clapping Thank you.

Issues with how vampires are done aside, there truly is so much frightening bullshit when it comes to gender relations in that series. If Edward were real, his sparkly ass would get arrested for being an abusive stalker. It's terrifying that this is being sold as romantic and girls are just eating it up. confused

A friend of mine who saw it simply said "her life completely revolves around the guy(s)", not even mentioning abuse. I would agree that is bad enough right there.

What is this all about? I saw something on TV the other day (E channel?) about New Moon and this was the first time I'd heard of it (and Twilight, is that the first movie and this is the sequel?). People are going nuts over it but where has this come from? Seems like out of nowhere. I'm often out of the loop but this really took me by surprise. lol I have absolutely no idea what this is all about (except that it's about vampires?). Isn't it supposed to be a really awful movie with terrible acting??

Lol, you lucky thing, I wish I didn't know about it.

Basically, vamps have been increasing in popularity for a while now, and this was just the first vamp related thing to develop a cult following.

It's a shitty novel written (horribly) by a first time author who got the idea from a dream she had. confused

So she wrote I think 4 novels - twilight, new moon, breaking dawn and eclipse. I've only read Twilight and it sucked. Hard. This woman has issues.

Now they're making the movies and they were smart enough to use the babe from Harry Potter 4, Robert Pattinson, as the main vampire.

Thanks, I think, for filling me in. lol Ah, so it's all come from novels. I'd noticed the vampire trend because of a couple of US series we get over here. I wonder why now. When did the first movie come out? Not that I mind but I can't fathom how that completely slipped by me as people seem to be going mental over it now. Was it like that for the first movie? So I guess they're going to make all 4 into movies if it's proving such a cash cow. Robert Pattinson, he's the gaunt looking guy? Is he English? I've not seen HP4 so I didn't recognize him, but my wife kept saying she didn't think he was handsome and didn't know what the fuss was about so I stopped to watch and there it all was, people just going nuts. I really must've been living under a rock. confuse lol Normally I don't pay this kinda stuff too much attention but I'm at least aware of it.

I dunno how you managed to miss it, but consider yourself lucky!

The first film came out last year I think, I did go to see it because I wasn't 100% sure if I hated it or not (and I do like Pattinson) but ugh I was laughing the whole way through.

The hype was pretty much the same for the first film though since this is the sequel it's increased a little bit more. But thankfully, with the popularity increasing, so does the hatred.

Yup, Pattinson is English. I think he's good looking and he seems to hate Twilight too, which is pretty awesome. He's spoken out before about how he feels the author is just projecting her own weird sexual fantasies and how the main female is just a Mary Sue. He also said he hates how Edward is perfect and everyone lusts after him and thinks its creepy that he's technically an 108 yr old dating a 17 year old.
