It's got no real theme or anything and looks kind of unco-ordinated but I really like it a LOT more than my old tree, that I will give to my sister who decided she's not forking out $50-$80 for a real tree each year any more. Last night when I had finally finished. The kids idea of helping was throwing ornaments onto it to see if they stuck (I didn't let them do that with my precious favourite ornaments ) this morning Max woke up and wanted the lights on my favourite ornament EVER!!!!

Ok, so normally I don't really decorate until Thanksgiving weekend. However, this year I'm hosting a par-tay on the 5th, for which I will be cooking (and I'm sure obsessively cleaning) the week before. So I started yesterday. One tree down, 2 to go. This tree is in our living room: I spent this morning cleaning feathers, as at the last minute I decided to cut up a feather boa and stick the pieces into the tree. THANK GAWD I had a feather boa laying around. You inspired me to get an all BLACK Christmas tree.

John, all of your trees are fabulous!
I'm tellin' ya... I know you and I could hang! We need to get together and shop! Clothes first, then home goods! I can't wait to show you what I've done after the weekend... OH THANK GOD SOMEONE ELSE DOES THAT!!!!! I used to do that, and everyone always said it was anti-Christmas. I told them to F off. I used to have a 4' tree I hung in front of the window. It was always the bomb. I saw the same thing done in a florist in Tulsa. They had the best window displays, and always had an upside down tree. Last year, at one of the Christmas shops, I noticed they are finally making a stand for an upside down tree.

I have a new amber/gold tree to put up this year, but here are the two trees from last year. Yes, I put up two trees!
The living room was still a bit messy, as I was still unpacking misc knick knacks. The Red and Gold Tree. On the buffet, a red rose tree w/ red light. A 2' fibre optic tree I found that doesn't work. I put all green on it with some frosted blue mini balls. The purple and gold tree. You can spot one ornament in the middle that looks blurry. It's on a spinner. I hated that tree topper and took it down right after I took that pic. Both trees have an ornament on a spinner in the middle (my roommate's dad makes these really ornate ornaments each year). Both trees ahve white lights. I use about 100 lights per foot of tree. I average 500 per tree. I wrap one 100 strand (doubled up) just on the spine of the tree, to have plenty of light from inside the tree. This is in my roommate's office at his work. That's actually a computer monitor, hooked to a laptop, playing a fireplace DVD on repeat all day. The brick is just a pattern printed out online, on the color laser printer at his work. One year, we did a similar "fireplace" in the patio door, facing outward. It was rather eye catching next to the tree. We live right on the main road of the complex, so it's (a bit too) easy to see into our apartment from outside. But we figured we'd give them something to look at. [Edited 11/25/09 21:03pm]

The Christmas Shop up there always had upside down trees. I didn't realize it was such a demonic unusual occurrence. I like your trees, btw.
