i hate my name. it has an ugly sound when pronounced with an american accent (it's much prettier when someone with a spanish, french, or english accent says it). plus, i have to repeat myself over and over when telling someone my name...people always call me lauren or laura...
my dad told me last year that my name was almost natalie, which i like sooo much more!

Jan Zalubil - I dislike my surname..just because I hate my father (I hardly know him..haven't seen him since when I was 3 years old and from what I've heard, he is very bad person)

I hated my name growing up because I always got teased. April Fool or April Ape or April showers bring floods...kids are cruel, and my last name was worse. I was the only person in town named April.
I love it now. I don't hear many with the name although at my last job I ended up working with three other April's. It was fun because when we were paged we all answered the phone and it drove people crazy. We told them to say the last name too, but "Let love be your perfect weapon..." ~~Andy Biersack

You have stories for days don't you... DON'T YOU Sandra. Uh my birthname is Nicky-al not common, but everyone calls me Nick. That's pretty common, I'm just happy it's a name everyone can easily pronounce

i like 'zaza'. is that a name your friends call you, or just a name you use for the org? (sorry to hear about your father) Well, as in America Robert could be called as "Bob", in Czech Republic "Jan" is called "Honza". When I was introducing myself to the others, I said "HonZA ZAlubil" and my friends has just shorten it to "Zaza" It's my nickname since I was 10 years old.

I know quite a few adult Jasons. You could go the other route. I have an old lady name now. No children or teens are named Carrie. Whenever you see cheesy tourist crap/toys for kids with names pre-printed on them you NEVER see "Carrie" in any of the various spellings anymore. My name is very dated. |

I can't say that I like it; it is just my name.
I had a neighbor who called me Eric, which is not my name. I originally told her my name was Nick, but she heard Eric. After a while, I didn't have the heart to correct her because she just kept calling me Eric. It was just really weird being called by a name that wasn't mine. The one thing about my name is that it is VERY common. My first name is among the top 10 most common names in the US. My last name is among the top 20 last names in the country. I abdicated the throne in Ithaca, but now I am...
