Loved that show. Mandy Patinken (who played Che in EVITA, as well as other roles on Broadway, and in film, and on TV), was Sam Franciso. They show the 2 hour movie they did on TV from time to time.

Remember, they loved sour milk, and salt water was like acid to them (and it's how the gangster aliens got rid of other aliens, by throwing them in the ocean).

Let's not forget the men gave birth to the babies if I remember correctly

I also remembering the alien cop giving "birth" in one episode. And when they concieve the woman alien got pregnant but at a certain time in pregnancy stage the woman "tranfers" the fetal alien to the man from belly button to belly button

(if I remember correctly sometimes I get V and this show mixed up as I know V had fake skin and was a lizard underneath and alien nation was aliens with spots on their heads)

Actually I remember that the producer/writer who created the original V also created the Alien Nation movie and the series. While the aliens in the original V miniseries were basically all evil lizards in sheep's clothing, the aliens in Alien Nation were basically divided between privileged masters and serfs/slaves, It just so happened that the alien mother ship crash landed in the Mojave Desert, so the humans took in the aliens and named them the Newcomers.

I liked the dynamic of the series in that the slave aliens suddenly discovered freedom on Earth and just wanted to live normal lives while the master aliens assimilated themselves into sleazy corporate leaders, gangsters, and other conniving criminals.

I loved that show! biggrin
I liked the movie, and I liked the whole message about prejudice and discrimination that was relayed in the show- it showed how people are so suspicious of the "unfamiliar".

If I remember correctly, the son joined a radical alien group who stressed "Alien Pride" and were "anti-human". His sister had no problem with integration, but ran into problems when she fell for a human boy who was just settling a bet he lost... sad

Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

Neophyte

I remember it being the first show that I heard the word 'Slag'.

Also the son was major cute.

Wasn't it a case of you could tell what class they fell into by the formation of the spots on their heads?

And was it Sykes the human cop that had the will they won't they romance with his newcomer neighbour...until they actually did.

This still shows on one of the satellite channels over here in the UK; can't remember which one though.

Ok I've got in the mood and watch a few episodes of Alien Nation. The Newcomers with very large redish spots on their heads are the Binnaums, a unique class caste of newcomers required in Tenctonese procreation (got that info off the dvd cover). Albert Eistien (the janitor at the police station was one) and he helped George & Susan with their child. Funny thing is that they never showed the child in all of the tv movies made after alien nation went off the air. Newcomers with a jagged tatoo's on their wrist were the overseeres, they were like the slave owners.
