The gang allegedly targeted people on remote roads, luring them with fake job offers before extracting their fat to sell it for $15,000 a litre… Police said the gang could be behind the disappearances of up to 60 people in the region. At a news conference in the capital, police showed reporters two bottles containing human body fat and images of one of the alleged victims… Police said they suspect the fat was sold to cosmetics and pharmaceutical companies in Europe, but have not confirmed any such connection. How much usable fat can you get from a person's body? I mean there's the yellow (newer) fat and the brown (older fat). 
I think the older fat is more difficult to emulsify and use in cosmetic procedures. [Edited 11/25/09 16:00pm] | |
