The funny thing is they were patrolling and stopped to escalate a group of people who were intoxicated.

I'm not sure if the officers
a) had anything "better" to do, or they would have not wasted their time on this group at all
b) needed to escalate a non-situation by stopping in the first place
c) need react this way when dealing with drunks
d) should start running at someone with mace and a baton when their power is questioned - a very human reaction but a grave error imho
e) they bothered to say "you're under arrest", like, ever.

They deserved it.
They were drunk and being aggressive.

hmmm I'm not sure that justifies that barbaric scene

put yourself in the officers shoes for a minute. you have people acting out of control, and your own safety itself is in question.

I used to work as security dispatch. I think I have enough insight there.

I tried to put myself in their shoes and I thought "why did they even bother to stop and talk to them?"

most people feel that way. i think we missed a lot in those edits too which might shed some light on things like an assault on an officer.
BUT, AT THE SAME TIME, it seems like officers of the peace gotta have better ways of dealing with drunk people using transit late at night. like, i'm pretty sure that's why they are staffed.

i'm on the side of the rappers...i'm just saying, i view AB as a pretty conservative, rednecky place (tho i don't know Calgary too much), so i would expect them to side with the police.

it certainly isn't like many places in BC.

Where do you live, if you don't mind saying?

Not at all, I was just curious, since you mentioned both provinces in such a way you seemed familiar with them.

I heard through the grapevine that the cops were fired and the charges against the rapper were dropped.
