Im sitting here not knowing quite what to feel,maybe Im taking things to heart a little too much,I dont know.

I live and work in a small restaurant in a small town,I get on with my job,its not a great job but its what I do.

There are a gang of about 15 teenagers that seem to take great delight in making my life hell at the moment and I really dont know what to do anymore.

Maybe Im a complete pussy being someone considerably more mature than this gang of teenagers but when there are 15 of them and only 2 or three of us working the restaurant the odds are somewhat stacked against us.

Last night they all rushed the shop,hurling abuse,bottles food.Trying to steal what they can get their hands on.One of them pulled a broken bottle on me and threatened to kill me while trying to rip the register from a counter.

Tonight the same thing happened,bearing in mind there is me and just two teenage girls working the restaurant.

If I try retaliate for starters Im out numbered which isnt a great idea.

I told my boss tonight that if it carried on Im just going to quit,I dont give a shit about being out of a job anymore I just dont need this crap happening on a regular occurance just for the sake of my job.

Oh and the reason for these attacks,Im a " batty boy "

Homophobia is alive and well in the UK and noone gives a shit ... least of all the police who despite being called about 4 hours ago still havent bothered to respond to my call

I'm so sorry! No job is worth that kind of abuse. Your safety and general well-being are too important. Keep fighting the good fight (by notifying the police etc.) and keep your chin up.

Quit that job and at least alert the police.

The police were alerted and apparantly did jack shit.

I agree with everyone else here...a job is a job, simply a way of bringing in some money to help you survive...you can find a new job, but you can't find a new life...even if you were never to be harmed, your mental wellbeing and spirit are taking numerous blows...

I think it is time to go to the police and file a complaint. Maybe they can do something before it gets worse.

Maybe it is time to quit the job and look for something better. A job can be replaced, but not your life. Start looking. Sounds like it is a dangerous place to work.

Awful. Quit. Some people would take it to the media, considering the police isn't doing anything. Police forces have been successfully embarrassed in other such cases after ignoring complaints from minorities. And what about the employer? He's the one who should be getting the police to act.
