Ok, Eric...I gotta ask something...your pics are always really cool and interesting but I've gotta be honest, I don't get it...why do you do it and what do y'all do??
I swear I'm not trying to be disrespectful, I'm just curious and have been for awhile now... another thing I've wondered-and understand this is coming from somebody with zilcho spirituality-if a truly religious/spiritual person approached you (not some religious zealot or wacko) and explained reasonably why the sisters may offend them - i.e. the nun/sister aspect - what would you say to them? again, I hope I haven't come across as disrespectful, I'm certainly not trying to be... | |

Our mission is the promulgation of universal joy and the expiation of stigmatic guilt. Our ministry is one of public manifestation and habitual perpetration. We do funraising, fundraising, activism, community outreach and education about various topics from HIV/AIDS and safers sex and harm reduction to basic street safety, visit hospices, visit friends and fans in the hospital, spiritual enlightement, provide an ear for people, and just do the work of women religious have done for centuries but for the Queer and Queer friendly communities. We dodn't mock nuns we admire them and seek to embrace their work and bring it outside the confines of dogma and religon and take it to the streets, the gutters, the parks bushes and bathhouses. Be the glimmer of hope and joy and that says if i can walk down the streets looking like this you can walk down the street and be safe and comfortable with who you are. My great aunt, you can read about her here http://www.facebook.com/n...4079003484 is a Benedictine Sister of Perpetual Adoration and one of the first people I told about what I was doing and once I explained to her what we did just looked at me and said I did the work of the Lord. I think once people put aside the shock value of our apparence and names and really step back and see what we do, I helped raised some 600,000K last year alone that they will see that we are good people really trying to make a difference in the world.
