spit Them fools shoulda had my muthafuckin' money! johnwoo

But for real ...

I found out a friend is dating a dude with a record and it was murder case from 10 years ago, Dude only got 6 years because it was self defense. I met him a few times and he's the most soft spoken, polite person EVER so I was shocked like a mug when she told me. So, I was wondering if I could be that open-minded/forgiving.

Would you date a chick that killed someone in self defense?

lol That's exactly what I thought.

Anyway, I think if I were truly interested in them, I would try to get to know the person better before I officially went about dating them.

That's a sticky situation hmmm

Put yourself in this person's place, what else could you have done in the same situation?

It was self defense, you said it. Empathise with him/her.

I guess it's tough to say without being in the situation. I can see it going either way. I don't see myself having much in common with someone who went through that, but then again, if it's that far in their past and it was indeed self defense and such then it shouldn't really matter.

as long as he is past the age of 30
didn't kill his baby momma for stealing his tylenol
didn't use any of the following weapons: machete, uzi, glock 9, nail gun
and didn't just get outta jail

oh...and he should be good looking but not so much so that your gut tells you he paid his dues in prison whilst on his knees. and he better not be missing any teeth either!

Depends on the situation. If she killed someone who was attempting to harm/rape her, then I would have no problem dating her. A drug deal gone wrong though? Nope.

lol You know I asked her about that shit. His response was that he spent the time fighting and that once dudes know you can fight and if you join a gang you might not get got. My best friend was a parole officer for over 10 years and he said the same thing.

Agreed. Dude is VERY articulate and except for the 3/4 sleeve of tats (which are usually covered up) is pretty clean cut, beautiful teeth too. You would never think criminal, much less killer. Scary to think the secrets people are walking around with. shake

In one way I get what you're saying, but in another, did you ever do anything that could have got you into trouble when you were a teenager? I know I did.
If I was dating someone and they told me they did or dealt drugs briefly as a teenager, I wouldn't think anything of it as long as I know that's far in their past...

Self defense is self defense no matter the circumstances.

Someone coming to your home to shoot you is self-defense also which is what happened in this case. The dude apparently owed him money and came to HIS house to rob him or sumthin and shot at him first, hence why he only got 6 years. Lawd, this all a hot ass mess disbelief

Chile you know I'm Oprah and was interrogating her ass. Surprisingly, she had answers for everything which tells me he was pretty open with her about it.

This was his first and only offense of any kind, not even a speeding ticket before. He had EXCELLENT lawyers if he got only 6 years from a jury in TEXAS for killing someone in a drug deal.
