Um, if my son were to tell me he touched his little sister, the last thing I would do is call her daddy.... I would call the police to take my son away... I would do it in a way were my son, his father or the neighbors would not know that the police were coming. Just get my girl to a Dr. and hold son in a jail cell until all could be figured out. How about as a society, we don't create manias in peoples heads and create monsters from the ground up. That is where the real battle lies. Word. | |

I have a cousin who is a career criminal. everyone is disappointed in him and have written him off out of their lives. And while I believe he is in control of himself as an adult, often what is missing in the whole conversation is that his dad taught him to steal from the age of 3 and inducted him into that kind of life for several more years before he left the scene. In other words, my cousin was created into a thief. It didn't help that he had to steal to eat. He is a repeat offender but he was given that life to live by someone else. Similarly these men are often given this life by someone who abused they sexually or mentally until their sense of self and sexuality is totally warped. I understand the visceral reaction of those who have suffered through abuse in this manner but there is a bigger story that isn't being told here and just killing kids so they can't grow up to be men isn't the answer. I have a hard time buying into that statement because I've heard it used as part of an explanation for homosexuality. The whole "they were made that way" theory just doesn't work for me. Yes you can be taught/introduced to something at an impressionable and tender young age but that doesn't mean it automatically becomes part of your psychological development till kingdom come. There are plenty of people who were molested as kids, taught to steal as kids, beaten as kids but they don't grow up to do those things to others. Likewise there are plenty of people who were not molested, not taught to steal and not beaten yet they do grow up to do those things. I'm just surprised that everyone is so quick to assume that this boy was molested and least of all molested by his own father. If that were true then I ask the following: Why wouldn't his mother have known if such abuse of the boy occurred? If it did occur and she did know then why would she call the father to come discipline the boy? If the boy was molested by his father then why would he not molest another boy; why molest a girl? (doesn't fall in line with the learned abuse theory) How do we know the boy confessed and was not simply caught in the act? If the boy merely confessed to messing with his sister then again, why did the mom call the father? Why not call the authorities, school counselor, church pastor or some other family or community figure that could intervene in a less violent and traumatizing way? | |

there was definitly abuse taking place obviously cuz the mom called the dad over to "disipline" him. im not sure why it was this boys fault it sounds like the parents are not innocent in this case

theres this guy that lives on my block he always freaked me out he lives with a buntch of kids and stuff i think the dad lives somewhere else now thank the lord, now his son or whatever just lives there, i think that was the deal
