Why is "virgin" used, more often than not, as a derogatory term? What's wrong with never having experienced sex before?

I'm a 29 year-old guy who's a virgin. I don't consider myself repulsively unattractive, even though I'm sure some girls would (and do) look at a short, heavyset guy in a wheelchair and say "Ewww!" to themselves.

I'm constantly struggling with the importance I put on losing my innocence. Sometimes, I let society convince me that I'm an ugly, pathetic loser for not having had sex at my age, and I get panicky thinking that I have to find some way to sleep with a girl, even if it would end up being pity sex.

Other times, I think of how much I want my first time to be truly consensual, where the woman I'm with really wants to be with me--mind, body, and soul. To answer your question, Erin, in theory I think I could have sex without love, although I wouldn't really care to.

I don't even have sexual desires for guys I barely like, so sex doesn't ever come to mind.
