Places outside the US I've been are:

I also count Cape Horn, the southern tip of South America. I didn't stop there, but very few people get to say they literally sailed around the Americas. I went from Philadelphia to San Diego on a ship. I also spent 30 days in the bay of Guantanamo Bay Cuba.

cool Now that's funny !

are your parents Europeans or Australians?

sorry for the nosy questions, it's just fascinating...

I thought you were joking! That actually sucks. In fact, I'm a sea sickness person, so I'd actually rather have gone to hell than have been on that ship. I'm sorry for you.

Why are you sorry? I never complained about it, nor was it a bad experience.

Sea sickness passes, and your "sea legs" quickly become available to you. However, I was on an aircraft carrier, so the pitching was minimal, except around Cape Horn where the weather was treacherous. Most Navy people will share the Cuba experience while on a ship. They go down there for Sea Trials. My ship had just come out of an extensive overhaul program, and needed to be fully tested. We traveled from Philly, stopped in Norfolk, and then went to Cuba for 30 days to do full sea trails in the Atlantic before traveling around Cape Horn, aiming for San Diego, our new home port. My ship was big, and being out to sea for a long period of time is part of the game. Aside from the 30 days in Cuba, the longest I spent out to sea was 3 weeks between Rio and Acapulco. It would have been shorter if we stopped in Chile, but we skipped Valpariso for some reason.

Wow, that is truly an impressive list of countries. But why do you call Ghana "African Ghana"? Is there any other, non-African Ghana? And when and where did you go to Turkey? Of the countries you´ve listed, I´ve been to Costa Rica, Thailand, Panama,Spain (albeit very briefly), Belgium(transit),France, the Netherlands, the coast of Ghana and England.
Did you visit the Aegaen part of Turkey? How was Belize? I would love to visit Belize, maybe even stay there a bit longer...is it very important to speak Spanish there? I heard it is the only Latin American country where English is the official language, hence my question.
