well, when I would drive, I couldn't stop. I hated to pull into a rest stop to "rest" because I felt too 1)wired and b)unsafe. So most of the time I drove straight through! (WI and PA are not the states to fall asleep at the wheel either LOL). I've had some adventures too-snow, flat tires, thunderstorms, car issues....lawd, looking back I'm lucky to be alive. The last drive I did though wiped me out-I had the kid with me and ended up just resting at a hotel for the morning. Traffic jams were the worst part!

Hell, no. I go everywhere alone. I go camping alone. I travelled in Egypt and and the Middle East alone for six weeks. I even wandered into the West Bank alone. My last trip I travelled to New Orleans alone, went to bars on Bourbon Street alone, and sat in a Jackson, MS bus station for a few hours alone.

I wanna move to the West coast and if it's soon, then most likely I'll be moving alone. That's a long drive from South Carolina.

Wow.....I couldn't camp alone. Hell, I couldn't camp with a bunch of people either. Camping. shake I don't think I could drink at a bar alone either. Hope you were sober enough to be aware if your surroundings. You're braver than I am.

That was the first time and only time I'd ever gone to a bar alone. lol It was incredibly touristy so it didn't feel uncomfortable. Everyone in the bar was from somewhere else and they were all pretty dorky. I enjoyed the band and they even played a blues version of Purple Rain with trumpet. It was a nice experience.

One benefit to being an aging woman is, as time passes, you have more freedom of movement. Not so many guys in your face everywhere you go. People leave you alone more.

Hell no. Sometimes you, yourself and yorn is all you got to get things done. What are you supposed to do as an alternative? Sit at home and never see the places you want to see because someone is not there to ride and drive with you? Girl you better learn how to change tires, get some battery cables, and keep some DW40 in the car and keep it moving lol lol lol!

I think it is strange for anyone to drive that far alone. At least all at once.

You can listen to the music you want to listen to, not have to engage anyone in conversation, and have your own private time without the impetus and stimulus of someone else's voice. I say its'a Godsend! lol

Maybe not strange but not a good idea. I know in this case it is a round trip so it is not at once, but for many people 5 to 7 is a good daily limit. After that can make you as dangerous as a drunk driver. Fatigue is a a huge factor of highway accidents.

thumbs up! I love driving alone. Drove from St. Louis to SC alone. Stopped in KY at a hotel. From Wisconsin to Chicago alone, and back. From SC to Chicago in a U Haul with a baby and a 4 yo. Planning on a road trip to NY soon...alone!

S long as they are not driving to vote I am fine with it! lol

(I read that during the woman's suffrage movement many woman were opposed to it. I find it beyond bazaar that one would be against having the right to do something even if they had no interest in it themselves.)

One woman told me that she didn't think women were as qualified to be bosses as men because of their emotions/periods
