This Q&A was probably one of the most interesting ones that we have read in awhile. It actually uncover some pretty interesting things about the show and how Nelsan prepares to become such an extravagant character.

Q&A Highlights

On obtaining the role:

“I auditioned! I had 4 auditions before Alan Ball hired me.”

On LaFayette – supposed – dying during the first season:

“It was straightforward…I had 12 episodes.” Then “elated” when Alan Ball told him that his character wasn’t dying (like on the books)

On LaFayette’s style:

He believes that it is a mix between his mom’s inspiration with scarfs and Prince.

I love the Lafayette character, however; I do not see any Prince in it though...

By the way, apropos of nothing, I saw Alexander Skarsgard (Erik) in person a few weeks ago. Damn! He is unbelievably hot.
