I've discovered a whole load of handy privacy settings in facebook.
One makes me invisible to somebody even if they have the same friends.
They can't see my comments, and don't even know that I'm on there.
It it literally erases me. This of course is a powerful feature myspace
has yet to mimmick.

But, one thing I'm having a great deal of frustration with is hiding
all the information on my profile. For example, how do I hide my
friend list so that this person can't add my friends to their friends?
Or at least , so they can't see who my friends even are?


I've tinkered with it all day and can't figure out how to do that.

I think there is no such feature....Facebook sent me a notice today about the new privacy settings....make sure you adjust them to your liking or otherwise the whole world can see your personal info....they kind of switched everything back to visible to the public in my case, and I just changed it again.
As far as I can tell, you can´t really hide your friends list. It even shows up when you look for someone on Google and when you´re not even logged in to Facebook.
Are you afraid that some people would "steal" your friends or do you simply have too many pornstars in your friends list? That wouldn´t look so good, you being a teacher and all.

No, I've got people who are adding my friends left and right. And I'd rather not mix groups of friends.

Also, I'd rather people just not see any information at all unless they've been added as a friend.

Oh, I can relate to that...thing is, there are more and more "friends and associates" of my friends that I know,but that I don´t want to add and they keep sending me requests....some I add, some I don´t but it feels a bit awkward to ignore some people´s friendship requests when you bump into them almost everyday. Guess I´ll have to erase a couple of people in the near future.

I think there's a 'edit' option directly on the 'friend' panel on your profile page. You can chose to 'not show' friends.

You still see something, but others can't see anything when they go to your profile.

I really need to do a purge myself. I always accept Prince fans cause I think they're probably an orger I just don't know who they are and I feel bad or something. Then I realize we never say anything to each other. So I don't know who you are and I never talk to you, what's the point?

I completely understand what your saying. So did you find out a way to hide your friend list from your friends? I have a couple of old girlfriends who want to add me but they are kind of bitter old girlfriends. I don't want to snub them, but on the other hand I don't want them talking trash or spreading false rumors about me to my other friends. Some of these people I haven't talk to in years. I guess I'm not sure if I can trust them. They are kind of like "Frenemies" I think everybody has some co-workers like that. You are kind of cool with them but on the other hand they are kind of jealous of you and you can't always trust them.
