Collectibles Past and Present

When I was young I used to heart Snoopy - what a cool dog, although I was never obsessed with Snoopy, I still have a lot of Nostalgia for him.

I can remember in the early 80's some of my friends were obsessed with Pierot the Clown ill They had their bedrooms decorated with this depressing transexual type clown with a tear, personally I could never understand it myself, although Prince had a thing about him too...

I couldn't care a shit about Care Bears

Wasn't into Garfield

Loved watching The Flintstones and Smurfs...that was it though

I can remember my Dad bought me a Wombles Poster when I was really young and that hung on my bedroom wall..

Hello Kitty kitty Not me, I am afraid...

More recently I do like Pucca!!!

Who, what, did/do you collect, love, hate?

Winnie the Pooh, ThunderBirds, Betty Boop, Pink Panther to name afew ...

When I was younger I collected Hot Wheels...I had cases and cases of them! I gave them to my cousins baby when he was born (wishing I would have saved them for my kids but I did't think I'd be able to have them).

I also collected Hello Kitty stuff and would never even think about using them. When I moved out on my own I threw it all away, but not before I used each thing once... smile

I made the mistake of one day mentioning that I liked unicorns one year and ever since that day my grandmother would buy me everything that had a unicorn on it (still does from time to time). I still have some of those things just because she is the one who gave them to me, even though I didn't care for them that much.

Now all I collect are rings (I LOVE them) and charms.

Let's see...

I used to have a major thing for the X-Men. That's kinda cooled off, tho if I ever see anything cool I'll still pick it up. I love Japanese anime, esp. the 'funny' kind like Project A-Ko and Sailor Moon. I have loved videogames all my life, and have owned several systems, starting with the Atari 2600 and working my way up over the years to a PS2.

I also seem to have a strange obsession with the things you get outta gumball machines. I used to have shelves full of all the little toys and stuff you could get :O

I am also guilty of the sticker collections when I was little! Now they are silly to me... I mean, we get them, place them in a book and there they sit... well, except for the scratch 'n sniff ones...

I've got a funny story, well, to me anyway, about PowerPuff Girls. My son had a friend of his from school stay over a few times over the holiday. My son is six and his friend is five. Anyway... when his mom dropped him off she said that this was his first time staying over anywhere and she wasn't sure how he would be, especially since he wouldn't bring his blankie. I didn't think much of it.

I set the tent up for the three kids in the living room and when it was time for bed and I was singing songs to them this boy asked me to get into his bag and get his doll. I did and there is a PowerPuff doll. I thought it was strange, but still didn't think too much about it.

The next day I talked to his mom and I made a comment about him wanting to get one of Haley's dolls blankets to have in the tent with him... so he had his PowerPuff Girl doll and a baby blanket from my daughter's doll. She laughed and said that he has a blankie that he sleeps with and refused to bring it for fear my son would make fun of him and spread it around school that he had a blankie that he slept with. I laughed and said, "But he had no problem or concerns about bringing a doll to sleep with?!" LoL.. anyway... I thought it was funny... kids!
