If you sold your cds......

If you sold all the cds in your collection that you did NOT listen to, at least one time, last year, how many would you still have left?

I'm talking, you didn't even crack open the jewel case and touch the cd for a whole year.

I have a fair amount of cds that just sit there, doing nothing. I like them enough not to sell them, but I don't even listen to them. So why keep them? I am not enjoying them. They are just dust collectors. Would we regret it one bit if they were gone?

I've got MANY cds/Lp's.. but I wouldn't sell any of my cds, even those that I haven't heard in ages.. if I own a cd, I own it because it means something to me.. (a song or whatever).. wouldn't sell any of my cds..

I do sell them or give them away already. Usually I'll buy one for a song, get bored of the song and then get rid of the cd. So far I've never had any regrets about those I've gotten rid of.

I could never do that..the ones I didn't care about are all gone now. Each cd means something to me and is not just product. product cds have left the building.Everything in my collection is a personal "must-have" regardless if I listen to it or not recently etc. The moment I got rid of one I would be feening to listen to it sometime soon probably. I like to know those are there for whenever the feeling hits etc. Most have so much music anyways its kind of impossible to listen to it all.Maybe I'll start with letter A and listen to one cd a day, in a row etc.

I recently got rid of nearly 200... I still have about 2,000 and I don't ever listen to the majority of those, but I might, so I have to keep them.

Can't the cds 'that mean something' to you, be just that, and not a tangible thing.

ex: Breakfast Club sdtk, means so much to me personally. The year I graduated high school, Movie was hot, saw it multiple times with friends, I played the crap out of the cd, blah blah blah, but I don't have to own it. Its just a great memory. Songs and cds remind me of people, places and things, but why own it?

You see, there's a chance that someday, six years from now, I'll really want to hear "Girl You Know It's True," or that really crappy Money Mark album I picked up. You never know. But I'm all for selling the albums I bought, hated every song on, and never got into. Unless it's part of a collection, like the Diamonds & Pearls single or something. Will I ever listen to that song directly from that CD? Probably not. But I like it in my collection.

As far as selling old albums I used to be into, I can't do it anymore. If at any time in my life I ever totally loved some album, chances are good that I'll get nostalgic and want to listen to it again. This has happened to me. Then I'll hear one song from that album on the radio and it'll drive me over the edge. Then I have to buy it again. Now I've bought the same album twice and have only lost money.

If you already have it, why not keep it?

still..selling your collection ? Nah. No amt is worth it..if you need cash that bad , selling cd's isn't going to make a dent. Needing cash is where you ned more than selling cds would take care of it.

A few months ago I went through mine and sold a bunch. But, just in case, I made copies of the ones I thought that I would have any interest in listening to in the future. So far, I haven't listened to any of the copies.
