One of my favorite shows, I'm a big fan of Mary Tyler Moore's period: 'Dick van Dyke' > 'MTM Show'. Betty White is a "fool", she use to do a lot skits on the The Tonight with Johnny Carson. Yes, I love Mayyyyrrre, but Rhoda was my bitch. I didn't like how they made her think she was fat and had constantly dieting tho.
Harley, you really need to check out the Dick Van Dyke show, very groundbreaking. First time there was a couple on tv, that you knew were getting it in.

Ms.Rhoda Morgenstern was the COOLEST & SASSIEST white chic on TV before Samantha Jones. I love it when they said in the DVD featurette that CBS HATED Rhoda because she was "too New York" to be among a "mid-western" setting like the MTM show,,,,and that CEOS wanted her off the show ASAP And yeah, I pointed earlier how they made her act like she was 'plain Jane' I'm not blind, that is one drop dead gorgeous heffa,,,,so I don't know what dog food those mofos were high on I might check out the Dick Van Dyke show,,,but the reason why I'm reluctant is, it seemed like one of those corny 60s variety shows from the few clips I watched from,,,,,but since I'm becoming a Mary stan now, I might give this a nod anyway. I wish TV Land or Nickelodeon would pick this show up, instead of some of the lame-ass shows they have on their channels now. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Now I'm curious about this show. I laugh every damned time Rose tells an St. Olif story Really? Every time Rose starts a sentence with, "Back in St. Olaf", I roll my eyes, and groan. RIP, mom. Well, Rhoda was and back then tv execs believed that most of America couldn't relate to Jewish characters, so they downplayed Rhoda being Jewish. I believe I saw an interview where MTM talked about this, Also, the Dick van Dyke show was also groundbreaking because it was the first time that a Jewish character was promintent on tv. The creator, writer, director and co-star of the show, Carl Reiner aka Meathead's daddy IRL (Rob Reiner) aka Saul in the Ocean's 11, 12, 13 movies played Dick van Dyke's boss Alan. I love that show, great writing and jokes without being over the top like Lucy. This ep was funny cuz Laura went on national tv and blabbed that Alan Brady who wore a toup was actually bald.

But Nick At Nite and TV Land would rather take two shows and show multiple episodes of them all day long instead of filling air time with endless other shows like they should be doing. Harley, you really need to check out the Dick Van Dyke show, very groundbreaking. First time there was a couple on tv, that you knew were getting it in. Right?! She wasn't fat, at all. In fact, when you consider that the camera adds about 10 pounds, she was actually exactly right, weight-wise. Mary, in the other hand, was on the skinny side. I couldn't wait to see what she would wear each week. Later, when I worked in television, I realized she never could have afforded that wardrobe on what she made as an associate news producer. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Because Ms.Moore was Lou Grant's sideline the man was too fimiliar, too invading of her personal, its only natural that they did it on the low-down Of course, we're supposed to think otherwise
