Where's the music in your house??

I recently scoured the earth for a radio for my bathroom & wondered why it was SO difficult!! evil Most radios (especially the small ones) sound like shit - terrible speakers! I have a Sharp that's 8 years old, sounds better than all the junk in the stores today - WTF?? Isn't technology supposed to advance?? confused Is America just one big Walmart??? ill

All I wanted was small, decent sound, clock would be nice, gotta have repeat function for the CD player. neutral I got everything but the repeat feature, lol, but for a tiny little thing (4x5x5?) the sound is GREAT! (it's a Phillips if anyone is in the same boat) I just sacrificed & made a loop of my daily ritual song, God Instrumental - no repeat, no problem! biggrin

Do you have music in every room of your house? If not, which rooms do you have music in & which rooms do you WANT music in?

Me: bedroom, den, living room, bathroom. Nothing in the kitchen yet, working on it wink

I have music in my living room/kitchen/diningroom. There was a stereo in Ian's room for awhile but he moved. sad I would really like a Bose system or small boombox in my bathroom. That would be ideal.

I bought one of those stupid things mad They sound like utter shit. A kid banging on a pot would sound better than the speakers on those things! Plus they're battery operated, take 6 C batteries whofarted the buttons are too sensitive, too much to deal with for $50 sad

Living room, study, kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom...

My bathroom stereo is linked to the kitchen one, "B & O", It has a just a set of speakers in the bathroom and a remote comtrol senor...the problem is you have to choose what CD you wanna listen to before you get in the tub, & if you are going for a long haul soak, sometimes you have to get out and go into the kitchen and change the CD, or just repeat of course, which is usually what happens

That's a good idea biggrin Even deciding what to listen to before you get in the tub isn't so bad, it's a drag hitting the buttons or changing the disk when your hands are all wet sad I'll have to do that one day, there's no sound like GOOD sound...

BTW, forgive me if I'm late but in case you're new...

I have a cd player in my computer, which is in my bedroom and a stereo system in my living room. I can listen to music from my bedroom while in the bathroom, so really, it is just the kitchen that I want some kind of system in.

Great thread biggrin

My living room, bedroom, office, the upstairs landing, my daughter's room and my son's room. Oh, and the garage.

What I really want is a good system and have it wired with speakers in the walls of every room and hoooked up so that I can have something different playing in another area of the house if I wanted... all controlled by the one system.

every room in the house...

stereo in the bedroom...

boombox in the bathroom...

huge rack stereosystem in a nice glass cabinet in the living room...

surround sound speaker and a soundblaster live soundcard in the computer room...

no need for one in the kitchen... the one from the living room carries over just fine...

nod

gotta have music everywhere...

I'd go with the Bose Wave with CD player. I have one in the bedroom as the sound is big. I realize that the bathroom is a hazardous place for high end electrical equipment, but the thing is well built, and the heat generated during use should limit condensation in the unit.

My primary music system is in my living room. It's decent stuff, but I dream of a new system. Frankly, my best sound system is in my car - the Mark Levinson 9 speaker system designed for the Lexus SC430. Here's a link!

My stereo's set up so the wires run through
the house...speakers wherever I want them.

It's nice, especially when I hit surround
sound.

Gotta work with the walls. Use them like
you would floor space. Most of my speakers
are on the walls.

how big???
that's just me and my sensitive ears...
the sound is different to me when the
speakers are up
don't need as much volume to get the
same effect
and the sound isn't bouncing from the
floor
