My parents were/are awesome too
They raised me with manners and politness (something that, oddly, my generation seems to have neglected to pass on) and when I was out if line I knew it. Perhaps some of thier methods would be frowned on today but they did what they felt was best for me I'm at the stage where I'm raising my own son now and I hope I do a good a job as they did. As I get older we've all started to get more reflective ; they said to me they worried they were too harsh on me for enforcing some of the best qualities I feel I have (not interrupting people etc) and in return, as I get older, I realise I never spent enough time with my dad doing the right-of-passage things like going to the pub. Recently I've tried to recapture that by seeing them more but we live a distance apart and I've missed the boat and can't go back to being drinking buddies. It's heartbreaking to think i will never know them as well ad I would lime and that now I realise they won't be around forever [Edited 11/11/09 23:10pm]

My mom will always have the self obssesed disorder that makes us all not want to come around. My poor Dad gets the brunt of it by default. I live in GA and they are back in Nebraska. I miss my dad, but she always intercepts. Now that we are all grown and in pockets all over the country, she has no one to abuse but him. I hope he drops her off somewhere and he can visit all of us. My dad is awesome, and I'm at that age when I realize I need to see him all I can. Very heartbreaking.

I had to save the one with the goat in the backseat Hhahah! I have to save the one with the lady holding the candle. I don't know what I did in my past life to deserve my parents. They were sooooo amazing to me. I love them dearly. My dad is still here but my mom passed in 1994. I still miss her. BUT I'm not sad anymore. I smile at the thought of her.
