It's not TOO hard to do. If you buy a battery for it, they usually come with a kit that has the tools and instructions on how to pry the iPod apart and replace the battery. The kits are well under or right at $20 (same for replacement harddrives).

Try www.ipodjuice.com or www.ipodbatterydepot.com or www.ipodbattery.com

Just know that when you open it, you lose any warranty you might have on it.

Hmmm, they might. These days, they probably would, but I'd hate to say yay or nay on it, because I'm not sure. They're pretty good about taking care of folks, so it can't hurt to take it in and see what they can do for you. They want you to be happy w/ the product, so they're sure to help you, ESPECIALLY if there is still a warranty on it.

My roommate's Macbook crack (it was a known flaw), and he took it to the Apple Store one Saturday to be repaired. Before he got home (a 20 minute drive), they had called him back and said it was done, and ready to be picked up.

Can't do it.

Isn't Apple just the BEST?
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

You're not supposed to, but it can be done. But if it's under warranty, they should just take it back.

I was picking up my macpro from the shop (second time in for repairs - luckily I'd got my warranty extended whew ) and a lady came in with her daughter's nano which had died, it was JUST out of the 12 month warranty, so they couldn't give her a new one, but they did give her a discount voucher to help buy a replacement (at least that was what it sounded like to me who was eavesdropping lurking )
