Are you ready for some football??? Pt 2

Yet another one of my football threads is mysteriously unavailable.

How long before this becomes a problem??? hmmm

Michael Vick doesn't sound so thrilled about being an Eagle

While being really, really careful not to say anything that would make waves, Philadelphia Eagles "quarterback" Michael Vick(notes) said yesterday that he's not thrilled about his role in the Philadelphia offense. He doesn't dig the Wildcat, and if it's up to him, he won't be doing it next year.

"It would be hard," Vick said of returning to the Eagles, according to excerpts released by NBC. "It would be an everyday struggle. But I would have to take that time to hone my skills and get better. I'm excited about the opportunity I have moving forward whether it's with Philadelphia or another team." [...]

"I won't be a Wildcat guy. I can't," Vick told NBC. "It's a different style of play. It's almost like a hit-or-miss type of thing. My position is quarterback. That's what I was born to do."

What he does next year isn't really up to Vick, though. The Eagles have the option to keep him around next year for $3.6 million, though it's got to be seen as unlikely that the Eagles would pay that much for a guy whose only function seems to be to prevent the offensive from functioning smoothly or with any rhythm.

It's a no-brainer Vick will be a starter somewhere else next season.

Raiders already have a QB that can't read defenses.

And yet sadly, that would be an improvement.
But I don't think that was Vick's problem in ATL.

He actually has said that in the philly papers here..thathe's very greateful..I had the feeling the Costas was trying to bait him into something.Vick has been very humble all year(Dungy coached him very well). He has visited schools and done whatever is needed.Everyone here in Philly know he's here just to get his legs back and learn QB skills from Ried and then he's off to another team next year.

Yea he did..what Costas did was reporting101 and he kept trying to get something juicy out of Vick so we could make threads about them and Costas name is back in the name of sports talk shows. But here in Philly,it was a non-story,which Im glad.Vick really has laid low all season.

Is it true that Dungy advised Vick to turn down a Raiders offer before Philly came into play?We heard about that here in Philly..the Raiders situation is so bad that Vick wouldnt be in a good position there...IDK..I dont remember

My boy Vince Young lit the Bills up in that 4th quarter. clapping Maybe folks will stop talking shit about him.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Pairing Chris Johnson and Vince Young(notes) in the same backfield is turning into a very potent combination.

Johnson ran for 132 yards and two touchdowns, and he caught nine passes for 100 more and the Tennessee Titans beat the Buffalo Bills 41-17 Sunday for their third straight victory.

The Titans (3-6) are on a roll since opening the season 0-6, and they can thank Johnson, the NFL’s leading rusher and the league’s first back to top 1,000 yards this season. They introduced him last, and he ran out carrying an American flag to a roar from the sold-out crowd.

Johnson quickly is becoming Young’s favorite target whether he’s tossing Johnson short passes or pitching to him off the option. Young also threw for a touchdown and finished with 210 yards passing in winning his seventh straight start. He also ran five times for 29 yards.

The game was tied at 17 in the 4th quarter and the Titans with Vince at QB went on to score 24 points so by any standards they lit their asses up.
