What u get for your RENT/MORTGAGE?

I am apartment hunting for my move next month to Chicago. (something I havent done in years) and I was wondering how much do u guys pay for rent/mortgage? What kind of ammenities do u have available to u? Good parks, shopping, public transportation?

Monthly Rent/Mortgage amount:
Bedrooms:
Baths:
Washer/Dryer in unit?
Ammenties (pool, gym, doorman, utilities paid??):
Neighborhood goodies:
Good public transit?

Let me know what youre working with! Give me the rundown! smile

btw:

My monthly rent is $1050 and I have a 2 bed/2 bath apt, approx 950 sq feet California closets, a small patio, dishwasher, washerdryer in unit. access to 2 club houses with indoor raquetball courts, 2 outdoor pools, indoor sauna and whirlpool. Water is included. Im close to shopping but I have to drive too damn far to get to Trader Joes, Costco, and Nordstrom. Im close to the University of Michigan-Dearborn and a community college. Mass transit is not that reliable but I live in a car culture town. What about u guys?

Monthly Rent/Mortgage amount: $400
Bedrooms: 4
Baths: 2
Washer/Dryer in unit? Yes
Ammenties (pool, gym, doorman, utilities paid??): None,it's a house
Neighborhood goodies: ??
Good public transit? There is Dial-A Ride that will take you anywhere in town, but everywhere I need to go is within walking distance.

I live in California. I pay about $80-$100 for utilites during the summer, closer to $200 during the winter. The amounts I listed are just my part,I live with 3 other people. smile

Oh, well there is a place with a pool on the street in back of mine, but you have to have a membership to use it. There is a large park about 4-5 blocks from my house, during the summer they have "Concerts In The Park",where live bands play different styles of music all summer. We have deer that roam the streets at night since we are close to the mountains. lol

$1035 for 780 sq ft and 1 parking space in San Jose but I'm about to move to Sacramento. I know I can find a place almost as twice as big with all the goodies for just about as much.
