Hook ‘em! UT headed to BCS title game ARLINGTON, Texas (AP)—For more than a year, the Texas Longhorns agonized over falling 1 second short of getting into the Big 12 and national championship games. This season, they’re conference champions and headed to the BCS title game because a video replay showed they still had 1 second left. Given a chance for one last play, Hunter Lawrence nailed a 46-yard field goal as time expired for good, giving a roughed-up Colt McCoy and the Longhorns a 13-12 victory over No. 21 Nebraska in the Big 12 championship on Saturday night and a spot in the BCS final against Alabama. “We had so many things not go our way tonight,” McCoy said, “but we found a way.” A loss to Texas Tech with 1 second left in 2008 kept the Longhorns out of the Big 12 and national championship games, letting in a team they’d beaten by 10 on a neutral field. That grueling memory helped convince McCoy to return for his senior season and it drove this club all year. In fact, back in July, Texas coach Mack Brown said: “Obviously, the only thing Colt wants is to be 1 second better.” The Cornhuskers rushed the field thinking they’d pulled off the upset when McCoy threw a pass out of bounds and the clock inside Cowboys Stadium showed all zeros. The victory would’ve given them a spot in a BCS bowl and revenge for a Texas upset in the 1996 title game that kept the Cornhuskers from playing for the national championship. Yesterday was a sad, sad night in the Gator Nation. I'm going to need Texas to beat the shit out of Alabama! Props to Alabama's QB, Mark Ingram, though...dude's a freaking beast.
Sucks about the SEC Championship...Sugar Bowl here we come! This probably contradicts anything you'd ever hear coming from a Gator fan, but I'm ready for the Tebow hype to be over. He's like God around here; it must be tiring for him to deal with, and it sure is annoying to keep hearing about. The shot of him crying was a bit heartwrenching for a second though. Moving on... Kinda strange, kinda awesome.

I took my son by Cowboys Stadium a couple weeks ago, so he could have his picture taken in front of it while wearing all his Texans gear. We went into the gift shop. If the rest of the stadium is as nice as the gift shop, then that is one helluva place! I'd love to go to a game there. We were going to take the tour but my wife was not as thrilled about the whole experience as we were. That $60 parking is outrageous, but that is the creme de la creme of football palaces. I went for the Raiders game on Thanksgiving. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

Every dog has his day and it has nothing to do with Georgia. Sometimes cockiness come back to bite you in the ass. Roll Tide Roll. Bama 2009-2010 National Champs Don't laugh at my funk

Bad move. They shouldn't be playing each other. Another thing i hate about the bowl system is the automatic tie ins with conferences. WTF? I remember South Carolina played Ohio State two years back to back in the Outback Bowl because of the conference tie in crap a year before Ohio State's national championship season. These guys can do a playoff with the top 8 BCS teams easily without this crap. Also there should not even be a poll the first four weeks of the season. Don't laugh at my funk

McCoy highlights big awards night for Big 12
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP)—Colt McCoy’s near blunder in the final seconds of the Big 12 title game hasn’t cost him on the awards circuit so far. It hasn’t hurt the conference, either. McCoy capped a big Thursday night for the Big 12, winning the Maxwell Award honoring the nation’s best all-around player. It was just the latest in a series of postseason honors for McCoy, who also is a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. He won the Walter Camp Football Foundation’s player of the year award for the second consecutive season earlier in the day. Before he beat out fellow Heisman finalists Mark Ingram of Alabama and Tim Tebow of Florida for the Maxwell, he picked up the Davey O’Brien Award at the annual college football awards at Disney World, given to the nation’s best quarterback. “To win awards like this shows that you’re greatly respected,” McCoy said. “It means people see the things that you do, and you’re rewarded for them.”

Just further proof that he's the antiChrist Lil' Wayne over your boys in the Championship Game? Silly women . . . . I pick Texas to win because of the BCS Heisman jinx. Since the BCS' inception only Matt Leinart won both the Heisman and the National Championship. Ingram can't control the game enough to pull it off. Texas 27-19. But let's be clear . . . . I'm rooting for 'Bama. [Edited 1/6/10 22:31pm] I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.
