Christmas Food!!

So the goodies are coming out! What are some of your seasonal favorites you wait all year for??

Here are 2 of mine i just got yesterday!! And yes, i know i can buy peppermint coffee all year but its one of those things I make myself wait for!!

And im not really a dork because i take pics of my groceries! I took it to send to my daughter cuz she looks forward to them all year also so i was teasing her... biggrin

I have never tried the flavored candy canes... Wait, i have had bubble gum i think...

My husband makes homeade eggnog...OMG its like jet fuel!! lol It will for sure warm you up!! I had him cut back on the alcohol just so the guests didnt breath flames!!

My Christmas pudding. I use Southern Comfort and Zywiec porter in it...and no raisins (blech!).

I top it with homemade toffee sauce.
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Struffoli, It's so yummy, and tradition on my mother's side (my mom always made it) though I hate making it. lol

Make some Christmas pudding first - since it involves massive amounts of alcohol.

I hadn't heard of buttermilk pie until last Christmas. An orger (I wish I could recall who confuse) shared a recipe with me, and my daughter and I have been making them all year! lol

GUMBO!...ohhhh gawd. My Auntie makes the BESTESESTESTEST gumbo EVAH! I hardly ever got it cuz I wasn't in the south often for the holidays. But I am nooooow!

That and my own Homemade mac and cheese. I'm lazy, so I don't make it often, but I love it and I always make it for the holidays. This year I'm also looking forward to my second deep fried turkey. I've only had one and it was the chefs first time and it came out too salty...we'll see what happens this year.

I don't think tamales exist in the Louisiana.. sad Imma miss those seeing as how I' from SoCal...which is basically "little mexico"
