How much, if at all, does the org inform your opinions?

What have you learned from the org? How much stock do you put in orgers' opinions? Have any threads or orgers led you to completely change your opinion on a subject? Are there particular orgers whose posts you always make time to read in full because you know they might teach you something or give you something new to consider?

For the record, my opinion of this thread is set in stone. It's a success. No lack of posts or posts deriding it will change that. Thank you.

There is a section on Rove's TV programme called "PeteSpace" and he welcomes 3 new friends each week, usually newsworthy because of silly internet infamy.

Thanks to the org I already know all about each one already. I'm still waiting for Dan and Erik Torkells to be Pete's new friend, to me that was the highlight of the year.

Well this might apply. I never would have bought the new Plastic Ono Band album if it wasn't for the org....so yes.

But also I never would haved type anything about poodles that relates to Silence Of The Lambs so it's a win/lose.

Sure, some orgers are very intelligent and almost always have something worthwhile to say and have definitely taught me a thing or two.

Others...not so much.

It seems orgers get information here about all kinds of stuff, turning them on to new music, for example, or movies, news events etc. but maybe don't take as much from it as far as peoples' personal opinions affecting their own?

I would agree with that in general, but speaking from my own personal experience a couple of orgers have articulated their opinion so well that it's actually changed mine.

I could be wrong but I do believe that Mdiver convinced me that life in prison is a better punishment than hanging over in P&R... so yeah, I've had my views changed...
