About half an hour ago, my sister texted me and they're on the way to the hospital now, I am having a nephew. His name will be Mio, pronouced "Mee-oh", it's a (male) character from a novel by Astrid Lindgren (that was also made into a musical). I can't stop smiling, my sis had all kinds of complications early in the pregnancy and ALL docs of every persuation were absolutely certain he'd be premature, maybe dangerously so... well, Mio was of a different opinion and now he's 2 days overdue. Now, the weird thing is that I talked to sis earlier tonight and told her it'd be cool if she squeezed him out before midnight, and here we are! But... we have only 68 mins to go here until Halloween is over so she better hurry.
I am so excited, sentimental, nervous and proud of my sister.


About 1.55am CET Mio was born of my sister and her bf, Tyra's little brother. Details to come later, but Tyra says he's got healthy lungs.

Mio, welcome to the world. I will take care of you and watch over you for the rest of my life. I love you.


He's actually not very ugly for being a newborn

Children don't do what we expect.
My brother's first son was scheduled to be born by the end of August. As he was very comfortable inside mom they scheduled to induce labor on 9/9/09.
Everybody though that date would have a special meaning.
My sister in law was all day pushing but Alejandro decided to be born at 1:30am next day

HE IS HERE! They called my mum just when he'd come out, he hadn't even been measured or weighed yet. Tyra called me, she was so happy and she said she heard Mio cry on the phone.
