Telemarketers and Bill Collectors I aquired a new phone number that obviously has been passed around quite a few times.
I keep getting calls from these people, asking for folks that had my number, some are just rude. It kills me how many different names had this same phone #. When I tell them they have the wrong number, it's like they don't believe me and they keep calling back. What if I become very dramtic & emotional, and tell them that person died? Would they leave me alone?

I got my number in January. Jennifer Martinez had the number before me, and she owes EVERYBODY!!!
I actually called one company back because they were on my machine everyday when I came home. I told them I didn't know her, never met her, and that I just got the number. I also told them how many other people call, and that they are basically screwed... they stopped. Her MOM even called, and left a message, "Jenn, it's mom. Call me, Honey..." Good luck! "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

call the phone company and tell them.....and no they won't stop calling you if u tell them they have died....they don't care. They want there money and as long as u answer it they know someone now has that number just saying. It is possible u're going to need to call the phone company up and tell them you want a BRAND NEW number one that isn't used

When I moved to NYC and got my new number, it had evidently belonged to some dude named "Chase" who was a ladies man. I would get calls in the middle of the night from women asking for him. It stopped eventually. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

I changed cell phone companies recently and apperently a guy in another town has a number similiar to mine. The man CANNOT get his own phone number right cause he has been placing ads for his car that is for sale ( he has a 69 Austin Healy I think is the make of the car), USING MY NUMBER. People have called me and left messages about it ( many have left numbers and my phone catches their caller ID OR numbers they call from).
I call them back telling me DO NOT call me cause I dont even own this vehicle nor I am a man (the ad says "Ask for Robert") AND I have palce 2 calls to the place he has this ad on telling them to remove the ad it is the wrong number NOR do I own this car ( let alone it is NOT my fault that the guy CANNOT get his number right). They now have a block on the or aka MY number and CANNOT be used unless I personaly call them saying I have a vehicle for sale. So far ( keep in mind SO FAR) I had no calls or trouble. I wish you the best and all others who had this trouble as well Smurf theme song-seriously how many fucking "La Las" can u fit into a dam song

Apparently, the person who had my phone number before me was named Carolyn. I've had my phone number since 2001 and to this very day, I still come home and find messages on my answering machine for Carolyn.
There's one sweet little old lady that leaves a message about once a month telling her that she still has her tools she borrowed and hopes she isn't mad at her for keeping them so long but she just can't get in touch with her to return them. She's been calling for almost a year so she must be determined to get Carolyn's tools back to her. I wish she would call at night so I can pick up the phone and tell her that Carolyn no longer has this number so she can stop worrying herself frantic. Carolyn's got some bad ass kids too. I've had numerous messages on the machine from the school wanting to meet with Carolyn about their little bad asses acting up in class. Andy is a four letter word.
