And instead of being angry i am very proud.

He saw a little boy he knows crying in the playground...he (X) didnt know where he was supposed to go ( he is autistic).

My son knew that the boys brother was going to a friends house so tried to find him to find out how X was getting home.

he told a teacher to hold the bus for him, and explained why...in the mean time X had ran off!!!

He couldnt find X's brother, but found X..and made sure he got to his mum okay...

just in time to see the bus taking off!!!!
Teacher said they couldnt hold it anylonger. mad

thank goodness for my sister, she was able to pick my boy up.

Poor rugrat thought id be angry with him for missing the bus sigh

I am so proud of my boy, he is turning into a little man with compassion/empathy for his fellow man.

That's a great story. You should be proud!

That is great! You must be doing a fine job of raising your son. I hope that when my son gets to be of school age that he would do the same thing. biggrin

Great story. Did you know that he missed the bus before you knew why? Trying to find out if you ALMOST scolded him or not.

I like this story because it's difficult to teach children priorities. what is MORE important.

Today, even better...i was paying for purchases in the supermarket, Rugrat and his dad went on ahead, it was the express lane, pretty crowded.

Apparently, while waiting, rugrat took off, and his father wondered why.

Rugrat saw something drop out of a ladies purse, and thought it was a receipt..it was $5...he chased the lady to give it back to her

I ALMOST did, when i got the call from the school (caller id)...immediately i knew he had missed the bus b4 he spoke!!!
boxed

once he explained, it was all good, and i was so proud, and told him so...in the few seconds i had, i had to arrange for him to get home!!

It was probably why he thought i was going to be angry redface

He is a very clever/smart kid, who often over analyses things (like his mum-me sigh)
This example showed that he can think quick on his feet, he knew he had to get the bus and did try to get it held, but also knew that X was distressed and went to his aid.

I have always told him, no matter what he does in life, as long as he is honest we can sort things out. It is always better to be honest upfront.

It is better to tell me if he is in trouble, we can sort it out. I may get a little firiey for a second (rant and rave) , but i calm down quickly.
i never punish him for telling the truth. (IF he is naughty, and that happens sometimes, he has privileges taken away...games tv etc.)

Unfortunately, I will have to teach Tyra and Mio this as well - but Tyra already has an enormous amount of empathy that I find amazing. I say unfortunately, because I am planning for Mio to become a defense soccer player and then empathy ain't all that good. hmmm lol

my son accidenly clocked a kid in the face with the ball during a game...he let a goal go thru, because he was concerned for the boy. Ump should have stopped play..it is under 10's mad
Goal counted...it cost them the game mad

Ok, here's where you need somebody to explain something to him - if the umpire didn't stop play, neither does anybody else. wink I'll do it, and teach him some ugly tricks too. Wait.. it's football (soccer rolleyes ) and not aussie rules, right? Maybe kids don't play AR... hmmm Cause if it would've been AR then he'd have been given the tar and feather treatment for caring about the other kid. giggle
So, I'll have that "in sports normal rules don't apply" talk with him when I come visit one day. deal mr.green

it was soccer, and a precedent had been set earlier in the game for to play to be stopped...it was one of the umpires own team pissed
our team stopped, not the other team rolleyes

and no one was mad at rugrat..just at the ump woot!
no ladders in this age group..its supposed top be about skills and team work..and fair play sigh

when he gets older, imma teaching him the academy awards way to get free wink
