My Favorite Pair of Blue Jeans

Just ripped to the right of the seam just below the zipper. So you can imagine its right in the top-thigh area. What to do? Shall I keep them and wear them as style or trash them and buy a new pair?

razz

Are you wearing "holy" jeans?

When do you give up your jeans?

Where does "fashion" end and obscenity begin?

What to do? Don't panic smile

Shall I keep them and wear them as style or trash them and buy a new pair? Keep them and either sew up the hole (if it's small) or wear them (if you like that look

Are you wearing "holy" jeans? No, but that's not really my style these days...The only jeans I wear regularly are black, and they don't look good with holes

When do you give up your jeans? When they don't look good anymore (too faded or too baggy)

Where does "fashion" end and obscenity begin? When your ladyparts or asscheeks are on display in a place where that's not really desired
If you will, so will I

Great Idea, I'll check the fabric store to see if they have any cool patches.

Hmmn, I don't usually wear em like that but I Looooovvvve the way this pair fits, so I'm kind of tempted to "fix" them.

Yeah, I think black would be difficult -- if you patched them it seems like you'd have to actually style them with many patches to mask the one holy area.

Agreed, although they really have to be tattered these days, otherwise they look new faded and hanging of the booty.

Ha, ha, ha, ah yes I deffinately do not want to repeat some of the looks I've seen out there. I'll be mindful.

Thanks!

Oh! the questions... boxed

No, I don't like jeans with holes on me, on others, especially the beautiful others, go for it!

I give'em up when they show serious fading or signs of holes-a-formin'...

Fashion, IMO, ends at the beginning of ridiculous... if you look at a fashion and have to suppress a giggle or a chuckle, fashion just died...

Obscenity begins at the point where if you can't wear it out in public without having to cover children's eyes. it's obscene.

A good tailor can sew a piece of jean underneath it & make the hole pretty undetectable. They hate doing it b/c it's a pain, but it'll look 1000x better than a patch.

There's also these places:

http://denimtherapy.com/
http://www.julib.com/denimdoctor.html

I've used the former before, they did a decent job but the customer service was really strange & unprofessional. It was a few years ago to maybe they're better now...

Wow, there's a fix for almost everything, unbelievable. Truth is, if I'm going to spend $56 dollars for a repair, I might as well add a few more $ and buy new ones. Thanks for the info though, truly interesting.

I hear you. It's expensive but the pair I had fixed was a pair I loved to death. & it would have cost a lot more to replace them.

Still, I'd try to tailor if I were you. I've had a local tailor do them for as little as $20.

I remember in high school, I was the only guy who wore jeans that were my actual size lol I was a size 30 so I wore a size 30. Hell my brother bought me some size 44 Southpole jeans that were so big on me, I would've had to cut a hole in my belt to wear them mad . I could never find jeans that looked right for me..

but when the 501 LVC's came out I went to JC Penny's and said "I knew you were out there for me....somewhere....."

clears throat

lol
